This last one unexpectedly touched a sentimental nerve. While I enjoyed the pen & ink version, this one triggered some pleasant memories - my dad was a beekeeper. Wonder if my head and heart were just in a different space when I saw this one, or if color made the difference.. hmmm.

It's quite possible the color helped you remember memories. I always find it amazing how our senses can unlock old memories in a very powerful manner.

I hope the memories are good ones that bring joy, if a bit of sadness as week.

I enjoy finding interesting photographs and subjects within them. A friend recently gave me explicit permission to paint his photographs. This photograph he made of this sunflower with the sun behind it, lighting it from behind. It will make an interesting subject.

Well, another day, another painting! As promised in yesterday's post, I completed the Sunflower. Most of it was complete last night, but this morning, I added a few finishing touches. Hopefully you will enjoy this rendition of my friend's photograph.

John, tomorrow at 4 pm I have an appointment with Dr Paul Charles P. If we'll have time left I'll mention to him that you started here as an naïve artist but became a great painter with a unique style which you exude to the world of art, and you create artwork that will be remembered forever, at least by the posters on this discuss forum .

Did a painting of a Chinese Fighter Trainer .. A Nanchang CJ6. My sister-in-law's husband flies one of these. I am fairly pleased with how it turned out:

John, I am wondering if your sister in- law's husband (is this a man married to a lady who is your wife's sister?), being a flyer, has an opinion about the benefits of a Teeter Body Hang Ups which looks like this, for a Lower Back Pain:

Image

Dr Paul C at Duke, arranged for me an Ambulatory Referral to Neurosurgery with Dr Carlos A Bagley of DukeHealth (located a floor below #5). I have "Lumbar stenosis with neurogenic claudication". I have it since 1968 when I pulled a stake out of the ground which was to support a three swings set kit, for my then 3 years old daughter, but I did it the wrong way. Dr P thinks that this problem with my lower back could account for my present painful Peripheral Neuropathy which disturbs my balance while walking. I want to try the Teeter Hang Ups before I get a call from Dr Begley's office about a surgery involving L3 to S1 fusion. Houch!

John, shouldn't we start a thread about the example of Dr P as a SUPER SLEEP PHYSICIAN, describing his set- up there at DukeRaleigh which is unique in the USA? I can't believe at these Duke's Docs' knowledge and efficiency. This thread would be directed, mostly, to other Sleep Docters who are quiet guests on this website. Any thoughts? {Duke's Docs' knowledge and efficiency. This thread would be directed, mostly, to other Sleep Docters who are quiet guests on this website. Any thoughts?

Avi, I have a friend that uses one of these machines (not the same brand) and that is the only relief he gets from his lower back pain. Whenever his back is acting up he uses his machine and this works for him. He slipped on a cargo ramp going into a plane and crushed his tailbone and had no relief with surgery or other methods of relief until he bought his upside down machine. Perhaps this would be a good choice for you.
Started cpap in 2010.. still at it with great results.

I have one and I really like it but I can't get it out and put it back up anymore. If we had another room to leave it out I could still use it.

Well, it's time to get back to painting. As I may have mentioned, I had a partial vitreous detachment in my one good eye. Though it's not a problem and did not lead to a retina detachment, as I first worried, it did leave a "big honkin' floater" (per the senior ophthalmologist, who examined me) in the MIDDLE of my field of vision. But they are right. Eventually your brain mostly ignores it. And after several weeks of playing various computer games, I mostly don't notice it, or can rather automatically flick my eye to move it out of my way.

Here's hoping you enjoy this one:

While this type of picture could be depressing, I prefer to think of it as dreaming of future possibilities. We need to see what is there - in all its stark beauty - to see where we want to go. May the upcoming year hold such promise for you. Dream on!

Hopefully you enjoy my noodling around with my painting. And here's hoping that this flower helps brighten your day .. as so much of the country is locked in very cold weather. There's something fundamentally cheerful about poinsettias. So, here's hoping you enjoy!
