Prescription for mask?

Post by Bill44133 » Tue Aug 27, 2013 6:38 pm

Why does cpap.com and some others want a prescription before it will sell me a mask. That is alot of bother for a mask.
I found provider that doesnt need prescription for mask.

Federal law,
Your tax dollars at work, as directed by the "medical mafia".
Note, however, that a prescription can be written by any medical professional,
including a nurse practitioner, medical assistant, dentist, or midwife.
(I don't know if anyone has ever used a veterinarian, but I'd love to see it.)
Caution; to satisfy the law, your provider may not sell the entire mask.
Some will sell it separately, other don't have all the parts.

If you have a sleep doctor, or even a primary care doctor that will respond to a request for a prescription from a place like cpap.com, then you're out of the "trouble" loop. That worked for me, I had cpap.com request a prescription from my sleep doctor, he complied, and now I can get masks from cpap.com without having to get a prescription...so it can be easier than you might think to comply with that requirement. The good thing in dealing with a place like cpap.com is that you know that they're reputable, you know what you're going to get, and you know that you're getting it at a reasonable price. Right now, even shipping is free if you have the promotion code ("FALLING").

That works if you have a doctor of some sort in the loop, anyways.

Most DMEs will accept your CPAP prescription for masks...obviously a CPAP is not good without a mask. YOu should always have a copy of your prescription no matter how old it is.
