Bingo!!

Post by Country4ever » Sun Aug 25, 2013 9:42 am

If you read some of my earlier posts, I was concerned because for quite awhile now, my AHI has been 7-9 on a daily basis.
I use Swift original nasal pillows (with tape on my mouth) and whenever I tried to go up on the pressure (from , I'd have alot of leaks and my sinuses would burn.
I dreaded trying probably several full face masks. So I tried it again.
I'm almost at the top of my humidity limit, but I raised it a little more, and increased the pressure to 9cm.
And Bingo! My AHI's have been in the lower 4's for a few days! (and low leak rates too).
So far so good!

I am glad you are having positive results with the pressure change. Are you using the full face mask to accomplish this?

Thanks Mark. No, I'm continuing on with the nasal pillows and taping. For some reason, my pillows are fitting more snugly, so its not leaking with this go-round, and the increase in humidity seems to have solved the burning sinuses problem. I still don't like taping my mouth, but its very effective. I will still consider a full face mask in the future, but until I get one, at least my numbers are alot better.

Great job!! Hope it works out! When you make an adjustment... give it time... maybe a week. I have often made an adjustment and got great immediate-results... Then the next day or two... I realize it was a bad move. I stay on cpcp mode, but every 6 months or so, I go to autopap. I may feel good for a few days, the it hits me... I 'm back on cpap mode quicker than a monkey on a cup cake...
