Post by Danny777 » Sun Aug 25, 2013 12:45 am

I'm new to this ... I been holding my breath in my sleepfor yrs .. now I'm choking ... This is making me panic .. I obviously need to have a sleep study ... But I'm concerned that the choking is something else because it is happening while I'm awake at times ... This really sucks what to do.?? Please give me a step by step process I'm not the quickest learner out here .. If anyone takes there times and reads this and helps me .. I am thankful .. This is scary!

Danny, have you had any medical attention for this yet?

Have you mentioned this to your regular doctor? Besides sleep issues, there could be something else going on you need evaluated for. The fact that you are having it also while awake makes me think that. I know before I was treated for sleep apnea I had reflux and it bothered me both day and night. For me, CPAP treatment also helped improve my reflux. Waking up to those episodes was scary. Please do see your doctor and let them identify what's going on with you so you can take care of it and get on with your life. The not knowing is usually harder than dealing with what's actually going on. Good luck going forward.
