Sleep Study for BiPap

Thursday night I finally did Sleep Study for switching me to a BiPap machine.

Got me hooked up, told me he wanted me to get used to the airflow before lights out sat with it for 30 min or so. they said I was doing great then lights out. I think I slept ok.... I took 2 melantonin - 1mg pills with me this time so I would sleep (sleep study before i didn't sleep at all).... I think I woke briefly several times feeling the different air flow but went right back to sleep.

Now Friday afternoon....... I Am Tired!! I managed to stay awake NO Naps!! used my regular Cpap machine last night since that is what they have me on until the figure all of this out. and I am Blown UP again from CPAP.

the Sleep Study guy that watched me... he asked me questions about why doing the bi pap and I told him the dr suggested since the cpap was blowing me up at night and I had major surgery past Nov. and since then everything was out of whack!!


Soooo depending on the outcome of tests and when I get back to find our results... (I start a new job on Monday, and not sure of my hrs)
Which BIPAP Machine does everyone Like? with a humidifier.

The 2 main players in the bilevel pressure machine market will be Respironics and ResMed.
Respironics calls their bilevel pressure machine "BiPap"...ResMed calls theirs "VPAP".

There are 2 models of each brand that are most likely what you would qualify for.
One will offer fixed bilevel pressures and one offers auto adjusting bilevel pressure mode as well as a fixed bilevel pressure mode.

There is a bilevel pressure machine model that is used for people who have problems with centrals. That's the high dollar ASV type of machine and it's unlikely you will need that machine.
I use a bilevel machine myself but it isn't one of those ASV type of machines.

I have used both the PR System One BiPap Auto and the ResMed S9 VPAP Auto...both with humidifiers. Now that the PR S1 model has the 60 series heated hose...it's a toss up as to which one might be best.

So in these 2 main brands the choices will be
PR System One 60 Series BiPap model 660...has 2 modes of operation ...fixed cpap mode and fixed bilevel pressure mode
PR System One 60 Series BiPap Auto model 760..has 3 modes of operation...fixed cpap mode, fixed bilevel pressure mode and auto adjusting bilevel pressure more (similar to APAP machine mode) .

ResMed S9 VPAP S....has 2 modes...fixed cpap mode and fixed bilevel pressure mode
ResMed S9 VPAP Auto..has 3 modes...fixed cpap mode and fixed bilevel mode and auto adjusting bilevel pressure mode.
