I realize that there may be some mouth breathing issues but I doubt that they would be any worse than what you are seeing now with the full face mask.

Yes, I have Wisp nasal mask. Chin up strips haven't worked and regular chin strap moves too much, doesn't stay tight, so I would try a piece of Nexcare tape vertical on my lips to keep them somewhat closed. Debating whether to give the Quattro one more night before trying Wisp. I haven't used Mask Fit feature and I haven't touched pressures yet. Seeing sleepdoc a week from tuesday.
Hi Ellen, 10 days is a long time to wait, can you call your dr office and tell them what's going on and either get an earlier appt or ask if you can lower the pressure yourself until you see him? You're a real trooper for not giving up but you do need help with your settings and your mask. Wishing you the best.

Tried the Wisp for a little while last night. I didn't have the right kind of tape so I used a piece of a Chin Up Strip instead. Wrong. It was too strong and when I started to fall asleep and my mouth tried to open to let some air out, it couldn't and I woke up gasping. Slept the rest of the night without the machine. You know what? I slept til 6 a.m. without waking up, at least six hours. With the full face mask on I wake up after two hours, then it takes me another half hour or so to fall back asleep. I thought it was the Celexa or the nasal steroids waking me up. It must be the pressures, or the uncomfortable straps, or the mask moving around on my face.

Going to try again tonight with the Wisp. I have Nexcare tape for sensitive skin. If my mouth opens I'll just try to tough it out without the tape and see how I do.

Hi Ellen,

Sorry for this off topic response but as an FYI, nasal steroids can cause insomnia. So in the future, if you have mysterious sleeping issues that don't seem to be due to anything else, you might want to keep that in mind.

I hope you had a better night.

IMHO aussies are more likely to be up front about most things compared to Americans. For example most of us would have no hesitation in calling you a d**khead if we felt you deserved it. We will tell it to you straight, no namby pamby.

Suck it up princess is a popular term used against both men and women here.

Sorry to hi jack the thread

This might be a dangerous question but care to clarify as it relates to this thread?

As one more hijack, as an American I would like it for example if people were more direct such as noticing if you had something on your face that needed to be wiped off. People think they are being polite by not saying anything but I find it so frustrating that I might have walked around all day like this when someone could have said something.

On the other hand, I don't like the "suck it up phrases" but I am sure that isn't any surprise to people on this board.
