Could it be....ALIENS?

Post by Tino2You » Fri Aug 23, 2013 10:45 am

I am not sure how to start. Hi my name is tino and I am a CPAP user...no that's not right, wrong forum.

Anyway, I've been on my machine for over a year. Went through the normal progression of 1- not helping, 2- helping a bit, 3 -!\WOW!/ 4 - no longer wow but not tired, to recently I feel like I should be taking an afternoon nap.

This last stage started last weekend. Normally, I am up around 5:30 for my usually one and only potty run. I get dressed and go to my home office and am working by 6. Fresh, clear headed and ready to take on the world.

This week I've been in a fog. Wanting anafternoon nap, drowsy and on Wednesday, I answered an email from memory and completely forgot I had switched the dates the day before.

My data looks good (I think). Leaks are higher when I use my Bella Loops (this past week I've been using my Switch FX headgear). AHI is low (<2) I am just tired. Could it be.....dum dum da dummmmmmmm Aliens?

Help, I am too fuzzy to think this through. It took me three attempts to get this image to display, and this aint my first rodeo doing this!

It has to be aliens; no way you'd be getting OLD!
Seriously, it could be something else--not even apnea or cpap-related.
If it's been a while since you've seen old Doc Sawbones, a visit may be in order.
Cheers, Frog.

Only thing I can think of besides to blame it on our alien friends is that maybe your general sleep quality maybe isn't as optimal as it has been in the past....for some reason that may or may not be related to anything in regards to your cpap therapy.
Nothing stands out on the summary reports from what I can see.
Is it possible that maybe you had more arousals than usual during the night that may or may not have woke you up?
I know that when I have what I call "bad" nights with frequent awkenings that I will feel it the next day. Normally in my case related to other issues (like my back pain) but sometimes other stuff...like the cat wanting to mess with me all night long. Sometimes she thinks I am her own personal play toy in the middle of the night and though she isn't all that huge she sure feels like it when she lands on my body at a full run.

Maybe you are sleep walking and wearing yourself out. If that is the case, you should wear clothing at night when you sleep. It can be real embarrassing when you are woken up by the police three blocks from your house if you have not taken that little bit of advise.

Listen to the wise frog above.

ALIENS?

I suppose that could be a distinct possibility. I did hear on NPR that one of our space probes had in fact left our galaxy. An intergalactic response maybe?

From the graph you posted it does look like you have days when you don't use your device and also you may have a low, but consistent leakage from your circuit. In general, from the many many downloads I have reviewed, little leaks lead to flow limitation and non-recuperative sleep. Have you tried Lansinoh on you nasal pillows? Timing is also a pretty big deal. If your body clock is off, you'll have to fix that in addition to keeping your airway open. You might try turning in at about the same time everyday.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for all the ideas. I will look for outside factors that are contributing to my tiredness. Dog, arthritis, and what not (and you're right froggy, it can't be age )

Sleepwell, I have two machines. The other is an s9 escape auto which I use it when I am at my cabin. Since it is not a full data capable machine, I don't bother trying to load its data. I have only missed three nights in a year and a half, two of those I was up for over 24 hours straight due to work, the other time, I removed my mask and went back to sleep.

thank you all....you're the best!

Since you say this change in how you feel is very recent then I doubt leaks are much of a contributing factor besides if I remember right your leak data is like mine...looks worse in the summary stuff than it really is because of maybe a very short lived larger leak spikes making the 95% numbers look really bad when the overall picture wasn't that exciting.
