Newbie here....obviously.
What is everyone using as far as soap or cleaning solution to clean your mask and hose? Also, how often?
Currently I have a nasal pillow and right now I'm doing a full clean on the weekends and then I just wipe down my pillows with a damp towel every night right before I go to bed. I empty out my humidifier every morning and let air dry and then then once a week I toss it into the top rack of the dish washer.
What to use to clean mask/hose?
Re: What to use to clean mask/hose?
Caverman,
First off, welcome. Second, can you enter your machine and mash information in your profile? It will help others know what you have when you ask questions.
As for cleaning regime, there is a wealth of information in the archives. You can search on "cleaning" and you will find very differing views.
I clean my tank, hose and pillows every week. I wipe the pillows daily with a non scented, non alcohol, non aloe wipe (can get them on cpap.com, or at target, look for sensitive skin ones and read the ingredients). My weekly regime is to use a plastic bin that I only use for my CPAP. Put a couple gallons of hot water and a couple cups of white vinegar and let everything soak for 10-15 minutes. I rinse everything in clear water and then fill the bin with a couple more gallons of hot water and add a half cap of J&J baby shampoo and soak. Another rinse and then air dry everything.
This works for me. Others will agree or disagree. Your mileage will vary

Here is just a partial list of some old discussions on cleaning regiments.
viewtopic.php?p=567264#p567264
There's a lot more if you use the search function at the top of the forum page but they all end up with the same sort of comments.
Some have strict regiments and some have lax regiments.
I tell people to do what makes them feel comfortable with doing.
What you are currently doing would be more than sufficient for some people but not enough to please others but the end result is you are the only one that needs to be pleased.
Unless someone has significant health problems with their auto immune system I don't think a strict cleaning/disinfecting regiment is a critical need but some people just sleep better going with a rigid cleaning regiment.

Thanks for the pointers.
I like the idea of the J&J Baby shampoo. I think for now I'll do like Tino mentioned once a week. I'll see how it goes from there. I'm sure things will change for me over time.
