Since we're talking about computer safety and security...wardmiller wrote:I just had a somewhat similar problem. I received an email notification someone had posted to a thread I'm following. When I clicked on the link in the email, I got a message from cpaptalk saying the message does not exist. But when I logged on normally and searched for the thread, I found it. Hmmmm.
Be REALLY careful with email links. It wouldn't be hard for a hacker to send an email that LOOKS like it is from CPAPTALK.COM but really isn't, and when you click the link, it might ask you to log on, or deliver a nasty bit of malware, etc.
I know ... CPAPTALK.COM is a relatively small environment, not like a bank that is the typical target of this kind of attack, but it's better to develop safe habits.
Sleep loss is a terrible thing. People get grumpy, short-tempered, etc. That happens here even among the generally friendly. Try not to take it personally.

Browser: Firefox 23
OS: Linux Ubuntu 12.04 (precise) 64 bit

Re: PRIVATE MESSAGES broken - please help asap
I believe what were having with FireFox 23 is a security certificate problem at Cpaptalks end. Firefox is not recognizing there certificate. An error occurred during a connection to http://www.cpaptalk.com.
The OCSP server has no status for the certificate.
(Error code: sec_error_ocsp_unknown_cert)
The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.
Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem. Alternatively, use the command found in the help menu to report this broken site.

How do you do that? I couldn't find a way to contact anyone in charge. That is why I started this thread.squid13 wrote: Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem.

Looks like john.nelson seems to be the webmaster support for CPAP, my guess. Sometimes when I have issues like this I clear my Internet cache files.
