Hi Offerocker.....just want you to know that you are not alone in dealing with PLMD (and in my case RLS as well) along with the Apnea.

I agree with you, it is hard to get someone to take it all together as a package, but if you can get the movement disorders doc to help, that will be a big relief to you. Don't expect that it will happen right away (unless you are very, very lucky!). They may have to try several different meds and/or combinations of meds to get something to work ....sounds like you are already taking mirapex, but it can rebound and also become less effective (at least in my case)

PLMD can drive one to absolute distraction....and if you are already tired and drained from the sleep apnea, it's a terrible combination.

I also have high cholesterol(genetic) and high blood pressure, but just recently had a really good (for me) cholesterol reading, I think because of the CPAP.

So just hang in there and keep on CPAPing and working on the PLMD.

Good luck.

Thank you! Your understanding, support and encouragement are very much appreciated. We/I need all of this we can get, to help fight that frustration and depression. Some days are so unpredictable! I plan on accomplishing certain tasks, then.....

My husband is a candidate for DBS surgery (Parkinson's disorder); he's doing fine, and will be interviewed 6/8 by neurosurgeon, as I will be by the Movement Disorder Neurologist. To tell the truth, I would have DBS done in order to be rid of some of these problems, if that's what it would take! I've been having problems getting masks to fit and not leak, but I'm not giving up!

Thank you again; I do appreciate your comments, and will probably refer to them often!
