so much for getting a CPAP prescription..

Post by oak » Tue Jul 30, 2013 6:43 pm

Several people here have heard my saga of totally running in circles trying to get my records and CPAP prescription.........well, I picked up my prescription today and.........

ITS ILLEGIBLE! (go figure)

So glad I fired this doc!

Moral of the story: Don't put up with poor service. You deserve better!

Mine was somewhat illegible as well, being hand written in 2002. When I used it online I put in a typed version. Since it was written by my GP, I was able to decipher his writing for the most part.

It has been accepted online. I sent both the hand written prescription and my typed version as well.

When you type your copy of what you think it says, you don't have to say who interpreted it.

I agree!

Get a blank piece of paper the same size ... Type out what it should say ... Practice printing it where it will fit on the practice paper, hold it up to the light, with the original behind it ... Keep practicing, until it is right, then print it off ... Go make a copy of it ... Done!

Duhh...If you couldn't read it...why did you accept it? Did you even ask for another copy??

Its a long story. I ran in circles trying to get this for the last month. Finally, it was left for me at the business office of the facility after I fired my doc. I could go back and demand a legible copy, but I am going to see some quality new docs soon who i am sure will write a legible prescription for me. Its a shame they play games but I am not going to play anymore.

I should say that the prescription written by my GP is on a page from his prescription pad and it was signed by him. I just added my typed copy and explained why I was doing that.

Hmmm. I've never had a problem getting any kind of prescription from any of my doctors. That's what I pay them for. They wouldn't get paid if they didn't give me my scripts.
