I just noticed this yesterday it had not occurred before that time.
I am guessing it has been about 3 years that I have had this machine and never had an odor coming from it till now.
I know it is not the humidifier, nor the mask or hose ....
I change the filters every month in the machine and clean the humidifier every day plus I use distilled water...
Anyone every have this problem or know how to fix it ???????

I would put it in the sun for a day while running and connected to the A/C with an extension cord.

Run it outside or by an open window for several hours. Try putting a dish with baking soda near the air intake.

Re: Cpap machine has musty or moldy odor
Sometimes this happens when my S9 humidifier tank runs dry - which only happens rarely. When I fill it with water again, the smell disappears. Is it possible your machine ran dry one night?

Re: Cpap machine has musty or moldy odor
Some things to consider trying:
1) Replace humidifier tank, hose,filters,mask.
2) Be sure there is nothing smelly near where the machine sits. Sounds silly, but that can happen when the machine is tucked away somewhere. Maybe sit the machine somewhere other than normal and see if the smell changes.
3) Disassemble as much as possible and clean out anything you can see in the air intake, air outlet, area around the humidifier, etc.
4) I doubt any kind of "airing out" is going to help. You're blowing 20 liters per minute or so of air through the machine all night, every night. It might be a good idea to take out the filter and humidifier, turn the pressure up to the max and run it for a few minutes just in case it will blow any loose dust out.
I'd be very careful about spraying anything into the machine. There are sensors and plastics inside that might get damaged. Some people set something like a cotton ball soaked in fragrance near the air inlet, but I really don't like that idea myself.
Maybe it's time to start watching your local Craigslist for a new machine cheap. Maybe it will take weeks or months to find a good deal, but it won't hurt to watch.

Re: Cpap machine has musty or moldy odor
Condensate in the CPAP HOSE will smell musty, like an old refrigerator or dirty air conditioner. Heated hoses help but do not entirely eliminate the musty condensate odor. Take the hose off, fill it with water from the bathtub faucet, swish it around, empty & dry by running the CPAP for a few seconds.
