Thank you for the link. I really appreciate it. I am so sure that this machine is wacky I am saving up to buy another one. Buying this will just put off buying another machine a little longer so I think I need to get a replacement machine first and then get the meter. I know I sound like such a whine bag but our AC is out too. We have had to have it repaired every spring. I am not talking about a maintenance call. I mean a real repair. This time we are just going to put in window units instead of spending more money on the outside unit. If I thought I could buy the meter and set my mind at ease I would have already placed my order. Thank you again.jencat824 wrote:I could not find a pressure meter on cpap.com, I know I bought mine there, but they must not carry them anymore. Below is a link to another site that does have one at a very reasonable price. I checked the pressure on my old series M & it did state correct pressure. Also checked my Icon & it always read a little off. My PR S1 560 reads correct pressure, so I know it is accurate.
You might want to try this, its inexpensive & might solve part of the problem.

Rant if you need to, we all get frustrated from time to time & if it helps I'm glad to listen.

You might have hit it on the head about dust in the machine. My neighbor across the way thought for sure she would need a new PC. Had hers for 5 years. About a month ago it was groaning and seeming like it was going to shut it self out. Yesterday she took it out on the patio and gave it a thorough cleaning inside and out (she's an expert on PC's and I can only be amazed at her knowledge). Brought it back in and the groaning is gone and it's working great! We all have first floor units and it gets extremely dusty around here do to nearby farm fields.

Re: Totally Fed Up Vent
Our old TV's prior to the flat ones we have now had to be taken apart and blowed out about every two years to keep them going. My old computer got blowed out about every three months due to the dust. I never thought about the dust in the apap's because of the filters. Maybe I will take it apart and blow it out. I really don't have much to lose at this point.MagsterMile wrote:You might have hit it on the head about dust in the machine. My neighbor across the way thought for sure she would need a new PC. Thanks to everyone for the kind replies. I will definitely need to get a meter.

Hiya Stormy,
Isn't there a data card that you can take to the sleep Doc. Since you and hubby both used the machine, it would be interesting to see the results. I'm sure (I hope) you would know the dates you flipped the units.
How about the pressure...........both on the same setting.
You can also try this. You believe your machine may be broken, rent a unit just like your husbands for a mouth. See how you do on it. Should not cost you more than $100, including having a report generated from the dme. Have your machine sent back to the manufacturer - checked out - repaired/replaced if needed. Make sure they include a report on the work they performed.
Now:
Any change in how you feel........
Dr. Review your report...................
DME review your report............
Have DME bill insurance company for a 1 month rental (your unit was out for repair.
If out of warranty, have the DME receive and submit an estimate to the insurance company to authorize or replace the unit.
best of luck
Vic

Re: Totally Fed Up Vent
My DME doesn't rent machines. The S9 is out of warranty. When I use my husbands machine I don't have all day brain fog and severe headaches. The only thing I have gotten from my DME is some mask parts. I have been waiting for a call back for weeks. I think they are mad at me and don't want my business.vic wrote:Hiya Stormy,

My data on the S9 looked alright I just felt like crap.
My insurance denied the claim for a new sleep study. I am still fed up,

Re: Totally Fed Up Vent
Call your sleep center, your sleep Doc or look in the yellow pages. rent a machine like your husbands. Have your prescribed settings placed in the machine. Have the sleep doc look at report. Forget the sleep study for now, it may be a machine or mask problem. May even be a YOU problem (increased ahi for example).

Re: Totally Fed Up Vent
I called American Home Patient today and they said my account was canceled. She said she didn't know why it was canceled so she took my info again to set my account back up. The only thing I was told was that the person handling my account was transferred to another department. Now I will see what happens next.
