+1 ... Better to be safe than sorry with something like that. I'm not liking the idea of your pain lasting days. An MRI might not be such a bad idea.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

I'm thinking the doc won't have much else to say but to get an MRI. I don't know, though. From what I read on the Internet, that's the first step people had to take. A lot of them ended up saying it showed nothing. I'm hating the fact that I haven't met my $3K yearly deductible (Anthem), but I don't see a choice at this point.Sir NoddinOff wrote:Todzo wrote:Loreena wrote:Consider going to the ER. Re: Has anyone had a "burning" sensation in their brain/head?
Just got back from the apptmt. I think I stumped the doc and/or he was hesitant to send me for an MRI immediately (which I can understand). Apparently my back muscles are very tense and he said muscles run up along side of the temples and he thinks I might be a high-strung person and that this might be causing the "fever" feeling. He took blood and wanted to give me a muscle relaxer. I asked him about sleep apnea damage in the brain causing the fever feeling, and he said he "doesn't think I suffered much from sleep apnea brain-damagewise--that other SA patients he's seen appear much "slower" functioning." I guess that made me feel a little better. He said to come back in a few days if the "feeling" doesn't go away. He had me do a battery of neurological tests and apparently I was fine. He said if i had a brain tumour--that he'd be able to tell by my "presentation." My impression is that he either thinks I'm crazy as a crap-house rat or that he really just wants me to wait and see if it gets better. I'll give it a few days, but I really hate not knowing.

Re: UPDATE: Burning sensation in their brain/head?
Just wanted to let you all know that the pain/burning in the temple area has not ceased, so I decided to go to a chiropractor yesterday, thinking I might find some answers related to neck/spinal issues. When I told her the pain went from temple to temple, she asked me if I had braces as a kid. I said yes, and she thought it sounded like pain related to TMJ disorder. So she sent me across the street to get x-rays the same day, and I was able to get her to review them later that day. Turns out I have severe TMJ disorder. But the really awful thing is that the back of my jaw is rubbing against my neck bones, which was caused by the braces jamming my jaw back into my throat. She says I absolutely need to take care of this because it will only get worse and I'll never get rid of the headaches. She suggested I go to a neuromuscular dentist who specializes in TMJ disorders. I'm going back to my GP, show him the x-rays (on disk), and hopefully get insurance to pay for the dentistry. It wasn't enough to conquer the apnea, which I believe was exacerbated by the bicuspid removal and braces as a kid. Now I have to stop my jaw from slamming into my neck. Hopefully this is a warning to all parents out there--Do not go to a dentist who practices bicuspid extractions and then slaps braces on. You are playing with fire.

Might try a mouthpiece that shoves your lower jaw forward?

I tried the Somnodent for a year. Moved my teeth to hell.
