Travel Size???

Post by DennyD » Mon May 06, 2013 6:38 pm

Looking for an opinion on the best compact travel size machine. I travel a lot and like to pack as light as possible. My choices are: Philips Respironics REMstar™ Series, ResMed S9™ Series, and Fisher & Paykel ICON™ Auto.

The S9 makes a slimmer profile in its travel bag than the PR System One. I don't know about the Icon.

I had the S8 for about 7 or 8 years and it died on me on Friday. Forgot just how dependent on the machine I was. Sore throught out of this world and getting that always tired feeling I had before I started CPAP therapy.

You can go to cpap.com machines and put check marks by each machine and compare dimensions along with other features.
https://www.cpap.com/cpap-compare-chart ... PCID=101#d
The machines aren't all that big and the Icon probably has the smallest presence. It's not like the PR S1 or S9 is twice the size.
I don't know what the Icon's travel bag looks like. Never seen one.

Transend II has a topic thread. It's looks like I'm one of few that use it on this forum, but I'm sold on its size.

A Resmed S9 work well for me when travelling.

Cheers,

Bill

The S9 and the PRS1 are not that different in size (the S9 is 3/4" thinner); the big difference is how they carry. The PRS1 goes into its carry case bottom side down, so the bag seems wider and bulkier when it's on your shoulder. The S9 goes into its carry case sideways, making for a thinner profile bag, like a laptop carry case.

I have both machines and have carried both through airports etc. The S9 definitely is easier to deal with as an additional carry on, in my opinion.

I know you havent listed it, but perhaps check out "transcend". Has a humidifier without water too.
