You can give yourself a little increase in pressure by reducing EPR to 1.
I am thinking that it is probably NOT off limits. In any case, I would be comfortable making that argument as it IS a comfort measure. I will keep these settings for at least a few more nights, then I will think about decreasing it or turning it off altogether and see if there is any difference in my results or my comfort.
Thanks for your thoughts, Pugsy! I'm learning so much from you!

Edited to add: Funny about all the "rules" we need to follow - some are so silly. I tried to return my oxygen concentrator yesterday as My Doc said "Stop the 02 when you start the CPAP. You won't need it any more." Well, they wouldn't take it back without an order from him. He was out of the office. I said "What if I just take it out of my care and leave it with you?" They said, "Then we'll mark it down that you returned it against medical advice" I said, "You can't just mark it down that the D/C order is pending?" They said, "No." I called my insurance company and asked them, "If I just turn this into them so you don't have to pay for another month's rental, and they mark it down as AMA even if I KNOW my doc wants it stopped, are there any consequences?" They told me that they would decline to pay for the therapy at all due to non-compliance if I let them list it as returned AMA. Sigh. So, they'd rather pay for another month." "But thank you, Ma'am for being so conscientious about trying to keep costs down." Ha! No wonder our insurance premiums keep going up.

Thanks Michelle!

Well, for night two, I did decrease the EPR from 2 to 1. I also found myself getting a little anxious during the ramp as it felt like there was not enough airflow through the mask! so I think I'll just stop the ramp tonight since I'm at such a low pressure anyway. My snores decreased considerably, but my AHI was about the same, but the mix was different - mostly CAs rather than OAs. The numbers were flipped completely (assuming the machine is accurate in this. Strange and it may have had nothing at all to do with the lowered EPR. So, the change didn't make last night any better or worse, just different ) I am turning off the ramp and the EPR tonight and see what happens. I am still sleeping way better, and I actually woke up this morning and had a pleasant conversation with my husband the moment I woke up. That hasn't happened in ages. I am usually so grumpy and groggy when I wake up I don't want to talk. I promise I won't bore you all with daily reports! Just wanted to follow up on my last exchange with Pugsy!

Hey, I am still that way. I have never ever been a morning person. When my husband is home he always gets up an hour or so before I do..makes coffee..enjoys some quiet time with the new kitty who has taken quite a shine to him and when I stumble out of the bedroom he brings me my first cup of coffee...he knows not to try to talk to me.

I am always a bit stiff and sore and such...add that into not being a morning person in general and its just best to let me get the cobwebs out before attempting to talk.

I have been this way my whole life. I can't blame it on OSA all my life because we pretty much know when it started.
CPAP therapy didn't change that.

At least I don't wake up with those massive killer headaches though. I am good with that.

Don't worry about changes in the AHI...those are going to happen. We don't sleep the same every night.
There's a rather wide range of "normal variance" that will just happen and we can't explain it.
