I would not add any supplements as a buckshot effort just in case your ferritin level is problematic, as you won't have any way of knowing if it's a need, how much of an increase is effective, or when it's enough. Iron is not something to add casually if you're not low. Too much iron can have problems of its own. You will need at the very least a blood test for your ferritin level, and if you want to be ultra thorough, get iron studies to include ferritin. So much about managing limb movements is a guessing game, and if in any way you can make any aspect of it concrete you may save yourself time, effort, and sleep with guessing games. Now, if insurances or finance make getting blood tests a hardship, that's another story and experimentation may be necesary. Gotta do what you gotta do. I suggest keeping a brief journal of what your are taking and how you sleep and feel as you go along to hopefully correlate which efforts are effective.jagzoo wrote:...
Kteagu, thanks for the thought about ferritin and magnesium. I know my vitamin D is high but haven't been tested for the others. My daily vits do include magnesium but not ferritin, so Ill look into that. I am one whose feet are always jiggling and moving while I sit. Not aware of it while I sleep but would make sense...
Once you have worked through any equipment problems and resolved any issues that your data might indicate, if your sleep isn't better, I'm guessing giving your attention to the cause and/or treatment of your limb movements would be the best next path if other obvious contributors have been ruled out (meds etc). If you search PLMD on the forum you'll find you are not alone.
EDIT: Just to clarify, I am saying address the leg issues in addition to using CPAP, not instead of.
