PR SleepMapper software released

Post by hyperlexis » Fri Apr 19, 2013 7:58 am

I got an email from PR re their online SleepMapper patient software now being available for free download to patients.

Has anyone used it?

I installed it and it seems ok -- more patient focused, shows hours of use, AHI, leak rates, but not waveforms or 90% pressures like Encore. It can dowload data from a SIM chip, a modem, or even by an add-on bluetooth modem wirelessly to a pc or smartphone, which seems pretty cool.

It also shows monthly therapy 'goals' for hours of use, and days, etc.

Any breakdown of type of apnea?
I record my pressure every morning from the LED display on my Autoset,
along with hours, 95% pressure, and open airway apnea.

I've also been trying Sleepmapper for the last 3 days. Some notes from a newbie to cpap below...I've been using and continue to use sleepyhead software and am comparing sleepmapper to it...

- The first day it took about 24 hrs before my data I uploaded via SD card even showed up in sleepmapper. (Maybe due to sleepmapper just being released?) Data import on subsequent days was almost immediate.
- The data it imported only goes back to the date I actually setup my sleepmapper account. It did not import any data prior to that date even though all my data since I started using my machine was still on the SD card. Kind of disappointed in that...
- Data in sleepmapper shows my mask at 100% fit for every nite. The help button when pressed stated that it's almost impossible to have 100%. Even being new to CPAP I know that this is not right...there has to be some leakage.
- Sleepmapper does have several reminders that can be set....mask, tube, filter cleaning, Dr follow-up reminders.

First impression is kind of disappointing. I was expecting more. I will continue to use sleepyhead, but will also keep trying sleepmapper and compare the two.. Sleepmapper may be better than nothing if a person does not have access to any other cpap software.

Any others out there with more cpap experience with better info?

SleepMapper only looks for time in large leak..anything less and it won't get excited. I guess they don't think that people can go all night without hitting a large leak at some time or other.
SleepMapper is a very generic basic overview type of thing. Not designed to show the level of detail that the Encore software shows. IMHO fluff and not worth the time to mess with it.

You can use Encore software but it doesn't give you any more details than SH, in fact less as it doesn't show a lot of the graphs that SH shows even though the data is collected. Mainly it presents the same data but visually different. The trend graphs are pretty much useless IMHO in Encore.

EncoreGuide link this will show you examples of what you will see. For a different machine than yours but the basics are the same.

Here's an example of the detailed report from Encore and with Encore you have zero graph manipulation ability.
Encore does show the waveform graphs all in one easy to see graph but it only shows the most recent waveform. If you want to review any old ones you have to save each days waveform graph as a pdf file to your computer.. Easy to do though.

Sleepyhead would be excellent -- but still won't (easily) install on new PR 60 series machines, right?

I've got a PR 60 series machine and am using sleephead. You'll need the patch to get it to work...

I have a PR machine and I have sleepmapper. I can only get it to show time I used the machine. What am I doing wrong? Please help. Oh and if I download sleepyheads and the patch how do I get it to work with my machine? Sorry, super new to this.

ReginaB,

I bet that you have a machine that only records usage data---i.e. a machine that is called a "brick" around here.

The CPAPs that PR currently makes are:

PR System One 60 Series SE CPAP with Flex (model 220) , which records only usage data. (i.e. this is a "brick")
PR System One 60 Series Plus CPAP with C-Flex (model 260), which records only usage data. (i.e. this is a "brick")
PR System One 60 Series Pro CPAP with C-Flex+ (model 460), which records full efficacy data. (i.e. this is NOT a "brick")
PR System One 60 Series Auto CPAP with A-Flex (model 560), which records full efficacy data AND can auto adjust the pressures.

If you can't figure out which machine you have by looking at the top of the blower unit, take the humidity tank out and turn machine upside down. The model number is on a sticker on the bottom of the blower unit. It typically looks like DS***P or DS***T where *** is a three digit number.
