Getting my new S9 Elite on Thursday!

Post by Sam793 » Tue Apr 16, 2013 2:37 pm

Received my prescription last week and tool my loaner F&P Icon Premo in and told the DME that I wanted an S9 Elite. She told me that I would have to pay for the difference of the escape and elite out of pocket because my provider will only cover a set amount. She said she would send me a quote and I could submit it and try.

I got impatient in not receiving the quote and went elsewhere to see if I could expedite the issue. The new DME have me a quote and I called my provider to see if all was covered. Here in Ontario my provider will only cover up to $1040 for the machine itself. So going through the quote for everything I was told there was no problem for coverage. I called back to the new DME and booked my appointment for Thursday.

About an hour later I got the quote from the old DME and I realized why her upgraded machines were not being covered was because she was combining hoses etc as the machine and pricing it out of the ball park. So this is a no brainer.

So I'm going to stick with my ResMed Swift FX mask as I really like it. Can anybody give me suggestions what else to get in my package as in hoses or accessories? Any help would be appreciated.

Well, you didn't say if your Elite was going to include the Humidifier. That's certainly something you will want. You may also want a heated hose.

With the humidifier you automatically get the heated hose and I do suggest that you get the heated humidifier. I also have the Swift FX mask and S9 and they are great. Good luck to you!

Not so. My S9 AutoSet came with the H5i humidifier with the standard hose. The ClimateLine is an extra order item.

My S9 comes with the humidifier but not heated hose. So I guess an upgraded the hose is a good idea. I guess there isn't much else to it! Thanks all.
