I made it for the first time through the night without taking my mask off. My machine tells me I went for 6.1 hours and it was the first time that I went 4 hours straight (my machine has a special section that records this).
I feel really good!
I actually woke up just before my alarm went off and I got straight out of bed. Imagine that! Me. Yes me, who usually has a poking match with my snooze button for an hour, got straight out of bed. I am totally amazed. I keep getting these little waves of goosebumps that wave up my back and onto my neck like I have just eaten a handful of ephedrine. This must be what it feels like to not be oxygen deprived all night long.
It took me a week and a day to get the right mask and be comfortable enough with it to sleep through the night with only I remembered wake-up. (I had to burp, I don't feel bloated but I hope this doesn't mean that I have aerophagia). Here is my progression through the week with cumulative and total hours on the machine.
Day 8 - 16.4 - 6.1 hours
Day 7 - 10.3 - 3.2
Day 6 - 7.1 - 2.2
Day 5 - 4.9 - 1.7 - Switched to ff mask
Day 4 - 3.2 - 1.6
Day 3 - 1.6 - .7
Day 2 - .9 - .5
Day 1 - .4 hours
I don't think I would have had success without finding this website and getting all of the great information and help from the EXCELLENT people on this forum. Thank You!

Ashi, I remember the morning when I first experienced that exact same phenomenon! After years of dragging myself out of bed (and being late for work because I hit the snooze button one too many times), I suddenly found myself waking up before my alarm and getting right up. That hadn't happened in... forever. Now, I almost always wake up a few minutes before the alarm clock and simply hop out of bed without even giving it a second thought. I'm so used to feeling rested and ready for the day, I'd almost forgotten that awful always-tired feeling. I'd started to take it for granted, but you've reminded me just how far I've come.Ashi wrote:I feel really good!

You're so right. If not for this forum, I know I would not have had the success I've experienced. In fact, I'd have quit CPAP altogether. Cpaptalk.com (and cpap.com, for the affordable equipment) definitely saved the day. And quite possibly, my life!
