I've got a follow-up appt with my sleep doctor tonight and I'm gonna ask for a new DME and pulled everything from my current DME. The last thing any of us want to see is Pugsy cussing out my DME like a sailor. YOU'RE FIRED!

Why do you have to ASK your doctor for a new DME....you can go to any DME that is supported by your insurance. Call your insurance and ask which DMEs are in their network. Take a copy of your prescription to one of them and 'interview' them before you commit.

PS...Pugsy does not cuss out anyone.

All of these returns/exchanges are probably why the mask cost so much in the first place.

Well...maybe not in public but Kenwood's DME's attitude made me have to really bite my fingers to keep from getting into the 4 letter words that did pop into my mind.
If there was an award for being the most idiotic, stupid and general incompetent DME...Kenwood's DME would be a prime candidate. Some of the worst statements have ever heard about were the comments Ken was told.

But yes...when I am pushed I can resort to some really unladylike language. Not proud of it but I never said I was perfect.

When I was sleep-deprived, I had a hair trigger, and my internal censor was non-functional.

Some DME's purchase their masks from clearing houses not directly from the manufacturer in an effort to reduce costs. In this instance they are not extended the mask exchange program from the manufacturer, many of these clearing houses operate an online presence as well and I do not believe online DME's are eligible for the mask exchange program. Johnny could probably give more details on that level, he may even deal with some B&M DME's for all I know.
Canada...I can't say anything nice, so I won't say anything at all.

So many cats, so few recipes.

That might explain repackaged pillows, (at least in some cases)
Friends who use the local American Home Patient never get more than one pillow with the nasal pillow masks.
Maybe that's part of the discount deal--and the DME is NOT stealing them! Who knew?
This does shed light on the subject.
It also provides one with an additional question for the interview with a prospective DME.
"Do you get masks/mask parts directly from the manufacturer?"
