Thanks for the help Forum
Well thanks to all of you, I just overcame a horrible DME employee. I was just diagnosed a couple of weeks ago, and have read a lot about the different machines and masks that you all use. I haven't received my equipment yet, but have a great knowledge thanks to your posts. I am in the process of changing jobs and my insurance runs out in a week. I talked with my PCP and she has helped me to get a rush on all my equipment so I don't have to wait on my new insurance to kick in. Well the DME employee starts by telling me that I should just wait till I get my new insurance, and that it will probably be turned down without checking or anything. I explain that we have a baby due any day now and that we need this claim put through right away. My snoring is so bad that my wife has to wear earplugs and sleep in another room. The tech at the sleep study says I am the loudest snorer she has ever heard. I know from reading your stories that there are good and bad DME's and I applied that knowledge and let her know right fast that she wasn't dealing with a dummy here. My claim has been sent in and I am awaiting my new machine next week. Thanks guys.

You just proved that knowledge is POWER! Hope everything works out well for you with the insurance, getting the machine you requested....Oh...and the new baby too!

My wife had to do the same thing with earplugs due to my snoring. Hope you get your machine before she makes you sleep in a different room.

When I got a copy of my full sleep study from the lab, it had a note about "VERY LOUD SNORING" (written just like that in capital letters). My husband used to wear earplugs. He doesn't have to anymore.

A year ago March, I traveled with a friend, and I warned her in advance that I snore. Is she sure she wants to share a room? No problem. My mom actually gave me a new pair of ear plugs to give her. At that time, I was already planning to confess my sleep apnea at my next doctor appointment which was in a couple weeks. The next morning, my friend asked me how soon my appointment was. I asked if it was that loud. She said, not really, but it was SCARY.
When traveling with my sister, she would yell at me all night. The only way for her to sleep well was for me to be awake. She didn't realize that every time she told me to roll over, I was quiet because I could not fall asleep. It wasn't because of me rolling over. Once i got my machine, we could both sleep well. At the same time

Who would have thought it would be this challenging to sleep and breathe at the same time?
