ComfortGel Vs True Blue Vs SoftGel Nasal Masks

Post by StuUnderPressure » Sun Mar 24, 2013 12:50 pm

I used to use the Respironics Original ComfortGel Nasal Mask (NOT the Blue).

Then, when I got my S9 in late December 2011, I switched to the ResMed SoftGel Nasal Mask - primarily because it was the ResMed version of the Respironics mask.

I see now that Respironics has the TrueBlue Nasal mask.

Does anyone have experience with all 3 of these masks?

Which one gives you a better seal?
Which one is less harsh on the nose skin?

Can I use a "Respironics" Nasal Mask with a ResMed S9 AutoSet?
Would the "vent leak" be approximately the same for all Nasal Masks?

The ResMed S9 AutoSet only requires you to set the type of mask you are using (i.e. "Nasal", etc.) & NOT for a specific mask.

Any mask can be used on any machine.

Resmed's mask type setting seems to help with accuracy.
P/R's number game appears to be much the same, but in "code"
to discourage you from using another company's mask.

Did you end up trying the TrueBlue?

I have an EasyLife right now that I'm generally happy with. But after 18 months, my nose bridge still is constantly sore and red. I saw a promo video for TrueBlue and thought perhaps the pivot would help reduce pressure on my bridge. Hoping you ended up getting yours and I could pick your brain!

Thanks either way!
Life before my CPAP was really no life at all!

Sorry, but I have stayed with the ResMed SoftGel Nasal Mask - mainly because I did not get much response here & decided I was doing well on the ResMed & didn't want to just willy-nilly change things.
