It seems to help me keep my mouth closed a little better. Yes, prescription is required for full mask setups. Mask replacement parts don't require RX so essentially a person could buy separate parts and build a mask but not all the parts for the Tap Pap are available separately. Right now the mouth guard and nasal pillows can be bought separately but not the hose part. If you can't get a script you could probably find someone here that would work with you and get one to you.
