I took a bicycle pump bracket and made a phone holder with this, and two rubber bands (probably a stupid thing to trust a high end smart phone to but eh...) Was awesome to cruise to a sound track. Just got on and rode with no particular destination in mind... Ended up going into my small town then all the way through it. 20 some miles in total. Runners High is a real thing and applies to biking as well, and I'm also of the mind that biking is better for you... Less stress on your Knees etc.

My old schwinn mountain bike gets me where I need to go, which is just out on a bike, but I can't wait till I can get some sort of a road bike. Not sure if its really worth the time or money to put street tires on my mountain bike or not...

Also, any of you more seasoned pros have any good recommendations for seat padding? I have a Gel seat, and its comfortable enough... until 12 - 14 miles. Not ready to go the very tight shorts yet.. but are there any shorts that have padding in the rear? Also, anyone have any good experience with a handlebar mount smart phone holder that works with something other than an Iphone? For those curious, no, I don't use the phone in motion, I know that would be dumb... I set up music and then ride... I get to safety if I need to change the music...

About that "seat" thing after 15miles....
ride more. Got'a get the buttox in shape:cry:, too.

3yrs ago, looking for a new seat I came across this:

http://www.spongywonder.com/

Pretty unconventional, butt......... (yes intended).
It was a bear to get adjusted and to get used to.....here we go again....
BUTT, I would never go back to a conventional seat.
This not only relieves pressure where there shouldn't be
too much pressure, it helps me continue to do two of my
favorite things. (You do the math.)

The second best thing about it is the riding dynamics it creates.
It totally changes how you control the bike w/your body weight.
Without the horn of a conventional saddle, all the control is in
your core. If you don't have core strength, get it......and then
it improves on that. It makes cornering a new experience,
much more tight and precise. Riding w/out hands for jacket adjustment
or whatever is a really new experience, and that really helps build
the core and quads. A great saddle, if you have the courage.

I like the shorts from Performance. Their Century model has a padded
insert. Get the shorts. They make your cycling much more comfortable.

I use Iron Man gloves that have Spenco gel pads. They are the best
cycling gloves out there.

Forget the slicks for your mt. bike, get a real bike.
Been there, done that.

I'll see you on the road.

to see or feel those changes, you'll never know what you're capable of."
I said that.

Bicycle = no Ritalin.

Fascinating video about a Parkinson's patient in this blog - http://bicyclinghub.blogspot.com/2013/0 ... g-and.html
