ApneaLink does not measure sleep or arousals. It tries to account for the effect of RERAs (for which one would need to measure "arousals") by looking at all flow-limited breaths, and assigning extra weight to those FLs that have concomitant snoring.

"RI", then, could be compared to "RDI".

It's a small bricks and mortar shop in MN, and they treat all their customers like small-town neighbors. And you can talk to an experienced RT who uses CPAP himself and strongly supports people managing their own therapy. That is something you won't get from any other online DME I know of.

Also, you can save some money buying a nearly new machine. They sell machines that have been used less than 500 hours and then cleaned and treated with ozone as they would be in a hospital. They also usually have a few unused, "open box" machines and a limited selection of new equipment.
Thanks, very valuable information I'm saving for future use!

this one:

The cost for an IDS Home Sleep Test will never be more than $300, even for those without insurance.

They are using:

And this one:

http://www.1stlinemedical.com/patient-information.html

This uses the WatchPAT-200. Doing a one night test costs $200. If the result is positive for OSA then there is an extra cost of $95 for their professional’s interpretation.
A filled out form of Medical Needs, by any physician, is required.

This is the Physician Registration Form in this place:

And this is the Certificate of Medical Needs:

Thanks for very good info - bumped for anyone searching for basics on the subject

Most of the latter posts are way over my head but what a great peek into how doctors and sleep techs look into our sleep structure and the resulting apneas etc. Thanks to all for the input because it's certainly an informative thread for the technically curious.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

Totally not sure what I'm looking at, and will be speaking soon to a rep, but thought I'd throw out some findings that you may be able to help translate for me and/or generate questions I should ask. From the report:

AHI: 35
RI: 39
OAI: 21
UAI and CAI: both 0
ODI: 23
Avg. saturation: 94
Lowest saturation: 77
Max pulse: 196
Avg pulse: 74
All apneas obstructive, none unclassified, central or mixed
Rx for AutoSet with Easy breathe at default settings
Did you get the Archived Study File?

I get suspicious (j/k! My baseline is downright cynical!) when I see values like "Max pulse 196", which tells me they did not really check the results completely (and potentially just left it at AutoScore).

Yeah. Seems a bit dodgy. You'd think they would at least notice it on the report then go back and mark it as artifact. (hopefully they would)

I will need to send them a thumb drive, onto which they can copy the digital file, and then send it back to me.

The archived file is only ~5 MB. Why can't they email it?
