I can't believe it took me so long to figure this out!

Post by JeffL » Tue Feb 19, 2013 2:03 pm

Just last week I was thinking about how well my nasal pillows fit even though they are 16 months old.
I cleaned everything on Sunday, and Sunday night, I was experiencing a terrible leak.
Last night, I again, either had a terrible leak, or when adjusted, it would block my nostrils.
Around 3 AM, I felt around the nasal pad in the dark, and I had reattached it upside down after I had cleaned it

Fit's like a glove now

I went a week with mine backwards once...cussing every night.
That was when I had broke my wrist and I had hubby put fresh nasal pillow on and I didn't check to make sure he did it right.

I doubt there requires much imagination on his part! LOL

Yep, been there, done that. It's another reason my nose and I are not on the best of terms with each other...

Sure feels weird--and so much better once it's fixed!

The other biggie is having one of the firm inner silicone prongs pushed up into the pillow body. During my early days that used to drive me crazy until I figured it out. Actually I once put my Swift FX nasal pillows on upside down and surprisingly, I got one of my best nights ever in terms of AHI. I've been meaning to try it again but some how it just seems so 'wrong'. As a side note: The inward tilting angle of the FX pillows was designed to be fairly pronounced ... especially when I look at my own nostrils in the mirror.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

I still think that photo was fixed...looks like a man's neck and hands with a woman's head.
Maybe I wouldn't notice those things so much if the mask wasn't upside down.
I always chuckle when I see that picture for multiple reasons.

No, that just shows you how much good CPAP does you. She looks 30 years younger in the part of her body next to the mask.

The turkeyneck is puzzling. Maybe the whole picture was of an older woman, but they used a lot of this face cream on her face.

She must have gotten some in her eye, too.
