It would be a worthwhile trade off if I was sleeping better IMHO.MagsterMile wrote: Also, I have noticed that the AHI is creeping up a little at a time. I now up past 2.0. The numbers were less than 1.0 while on the Mirage Quattro. Looking at Sleepy Head and not seeing big leak numbers at all. Perhaps a trade-off?
The difference in AHI is really insignificant and could just be part of the normal variances that we see.
I can go from AHI 0.5 one night to 3.0 the next night and change nothing. I can go from a week with AHI always been 1 to 2 and then have over 5.0 one night. It just happens. Also everyone needs to remember that AHI now includes central/clear airway events and sometimes CAs are where the most variances occur. Since centrals/CAs can also be flagged while awake sometimes we have awake stuff get flagged. So also glance at the event category distribution of any AHI.
If the AHI is 2.5 and 2.0 of that AHI is CA/centrals then we have only 0.5 that is obstructive in nature and that is what we are using these cpap machines for. We don't treat CAs with pressure from cpap machines. We pretty much have to ignore them unless the numbers are higher than we want to see and happening often. If CAs are a big problem that's were the that high dollar machine comes in.
