No but I have wondered about this type of therapy. They want 700 dollars for the device. A healthy price if it does not work. Here is some other links on the same idea. Mayo Clinic has deep brain stimulation for depression.

Re: FISHER WALLACE STIMULATOR FOR DEPRESSION, ANXIETY & INSOMNIA
I was in some of the original rTMS clinical trials for "medication resistant" clinical depression back in the late nineties. By "medication resistant," I mean you either do not get a response or a good response to high doses of antidepressants for an extended period of time. That was me, before they put me on CPAP in 2007. I look back on it and really, do not know how I survived. I am lucky to be alive in all honesty.
Anyway, rTMS was better than nothing. It did elevate my mood, a little. There was one brief day or two where I began to feel genuinely better, but like many depression treatments, it did not last. I think a lot of these "new" non medication depression treatments like rTMS, deep brain stimulation and so on are not that effective despite being FDA approved for depression.
If you have chronic, really disabling depression and medication does not work and combining medication with CPAP therapy has not worked (whew, that would be bad!) and you have no underlying endocrine illness like thyroid or type II diabetes or low testosterone, I'd look into old fashioned ECT. Shock treatment. I had a shock treatment consultation years ago, again, BEFORE I was put on CPAP. Im glad I did not do ECT then, as I had already been diagnosed with OSA and I dont think ECT with untreated OSA will get you very far.
If your OSA is treated properly, I would not hesitate to do ECT. Keep in mind that these days, ECT is hard to find. Not many psychiatrists even do ECT anymore and ECT has become the "depression treatment for the rich and for those with really good health insurance." It is the "gold standard" treatment for extremely severe mood disorders. ECT and CPAP would be a good combination, IMO.

I've noticed that and tend to stay away from his recommendations. Some of us are doing this on a tight budget.

Re: FISHER WALLACE STIMULATOR FOR DEPRESSION, ANXIETY & INSOMNIA
Good advice. I have used exercise as an "adjunct" to an antidepressant and to CPAP therapy until recent times. Unfortunately with my current flareup of respiratory infections/conditions, I have not been able to exercise much recently. However, when I move back to a central air apartment soon and get my "too tight" mask situation resolved, I should be able to return to regular exercise.
For those with only mild to moderate depression or anxiety, CPAP plus regular aerobic exercise may oftentimes be all that is needed to resolve the psychological issues. For those with serious depression or anxiety probs, its been my experience that medications are still needed even if you exercise a lot and are CPAP compliant.
Everyone is different, however.

Fortunately I have no use for such a thing since I don't suffer from such a thing. Maybe play doctor on someone elseCowFish wrote:
