Can you provide more specifics such as to whether you have trouble falling asleep, staying asleep, or both?
Also, do you have access to software so you can make sure everthing is ok AHI and pressure wise?
Another reason you could be having difficulties is mask discomfort. How is your Oracle feeling?
As one who has experienced similar problems and is trying to sort it all out, what is very frustrating is it could be due to several reasons. One thing that has helped me greatly which I recommend you do if you aren't currently doing is keep a record of each day. Include as many details as possible such as amount of time slept and how you felt when you woke up prematurely. Also, mention supplements and drugs consumed, food, exercise, and anything else that was going that seems relevant.
Hopefully, you might begin to see if there is a particular problem area that might be interring.
Hope this helps.

Here's my 2 cents: Maybe you should concentrate on making treatment for the apnea work instead of being desperate for a good nights sleep. It's a subtle change, but attack the issues that may prevent you from getting a good nights sleep. If you can train yourself to be compliant with the treatment, the rest will follow.
- make sure you wear the mask all night. Your note did not say you weren't, but you can't get treatment without wearing the mask.
- wear the mask watching tv, reading listening to music, napping, etc... this will help you get used to wearing it.
- make sure the mask is comfortable. If not, it will keep you up all night. There are bunches of masks and of different types out there. Most DME's will allow you to return a mask within 30 days. Try them on at the DME's office and see if it feels comfortable.
Ok, at this point... you have a comfortable mask... and you are training your body to get used to it. It is important that your mask doesn't leak. The mask may feel comfortable, but if you get too many leaks... you are not getting good therapy and as we say in the south.... "you are whistlin' dixie"... Overtightening the mask may cause more leaks and make the mask uncomfortable. The DME should be able to help you adjust the mask properly. Remember: if it leaks at the DME office, it will probably leak at home while you are tossing and turning in bed. If your leak rates are low, you will be getting proper therapy.
Next... Give the therapy a chance to work. Your body may be asking you, "Are you kidding me?" After a period of time (several weeks... 4-6 weeks) your body will settle in and start to heal. That's when you start to see some improvement. While "waiting" for this, you can make sure you deal with hose management (hose hanger or hose covers), a mask cleaning routine, etc....
I hope things work out for you! Try and put the emotional aspect aside and deal with the practical steps of making this treatment work for you. I guess I was lucky... I did all the things that most folks go thru to find proper therapy, then the emotional aspects hit me. I looked at the machine one night and said, "Dang, I gotta wear this conclaption? What have I got myself into?"
Best of luck to you! Work all your issues here in the forum. There are good people her to help you. Keep us posted.

Re: im despeite for sleep
Hi,
First of all as all the experienced users here would say, getting used to cpap treatment takes some time for most of us, as the body and brain get trained to the new sleepy/breathing style, so hang in there. I am sure the wealth of experience/information on this forum will help you out.
Secondly, I see you are using an Oracle 452 Mask? As a user of the same mask, I was curious on why you chose this particular mask as its usually a tough mask to get used to, and I think being geared towards a Mouth breather. So how are your experiences with that mask? Do you have any nose leakages (air blowing out through your nose?)

Just a suggestion: Take a look at the Sheriff's mask.
It doesn't matter whether you breathe through your nose, mouth, or eyeballs--it's got you covered.
Maybe a change will help.
