Hi, do you remember me? In my opnion, you have Complex Sleep Apnea Syndrome (CompSAS). Surgery does not fix it. If you're still on the West coast why don't you try to get an appointment with Dr Barry Krakow (Kraiko) at his clinic at 6739 Academy NE Rd, Albuquerque, NM 87109?

Oh. Duh. Yeah, that lines up perfectly then.

So I have a couple follow-up questions, but I'll hold them until you get a chance to look at those waveforms so as not to waste your time.

Unfortunately, mollete has apparently contracted an acute case of stupid and is unable to read those files.

Is that a Sleepyhead folder? I believe in order to make that work, you need to take the entire User folder, which includes
  • daily
  • ImportLocations
  • overview
  • Profile

Well my bad! I soooooooo apologize!

However, the link to Uncle Terry's file has suddenly become broken. Fortunately, I saved a copy, so let me know if you need it to get that fixed.

Hey, what are friends for?

Nope, that's straight off the card. I made a fresh version with the contents of the entire card, in case that helps:

If you're looking for a copy of stuff already imported into Encore, though, that'll take a bit more work since I am using Sleepyhead rather than Encore now. (I'm on a Mac, so it's just been easier, rather than firing up a virtual Windows machine every time I want to import.)

Its not suddenly broken. I took it down until I can fix it. I'm sure he still doesn't want it floating around out there. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

I would appreciate it if you wouldn't post or save things from my website that I have copyrighted. That's what posting links are for.

Thanks Sport!

Boy, I sure wish you told me that before I sent the file to HIPPA.

Oh well, once you get to Kansas, maybe the Zags will play the Jayhawks!

Yep, worked perfectly.

Great example of an arousal triggering a chain of central stuff.

There looks to be much more central stuff that was NOT scored-- indeed, most is CompSASy.

In the meanwhile, here's a little patch of what appears to be SWJ-- probably not worth an ASV attack:

OK, so this shows where AHI numbers just don't tell the story. This waxing and waning is CompSAS. Great sample:

So while this is clearly ASVable, I imagine it comes down to 2 choices:
  • As previously noted (and suggested by Stanford) it may (and appaarently, "should") correct with time; or
  • Drop the 3 G's now and go ASV.
That said, it is clear that your situation is still quite dynamic, and letting things soak for a little while might not be a bad idea.

Mollete, why so adversarial with Lefty? Is it because he's a sleep tech and on your "turf" or is it because all the women on this site are PMing each other talking about what a hottie Lefty is?

Is this going to turn into a "my epoch is bigger than your epoch" kind of thing?

Thanks for weighing in. I actually have an ASV sitting in the closet -- but it's the old-style PR model (i.e., not System One) which means that it's bigger, clunkier, and noisier. That said, it sounds like that's your recommendation, even with my situation (hopefully) improving with time.

I guess my big remaining question has to do with the mechanics of how the ASV will help. As you noted, PICs show up for me -- and we're talking about very low levels of pressure to begin with. Given that I sit around 4-5cm most of the night, and things seem to get worse when we go much above that, is an ASV even going to do much for me?

Great question. Let's get The Kid to weigh in.

Hey Kid, you gonna add something here or just stand around and flex for SU?
