SleepLink Modem

Post by Titrator » Fri Jan 14, 2005 9:42 am

The Respironics SleepLink Modem is a tool that homecare companies use to gather information via telephone line.

The SleepLink Modem is hooked to the Respironics machine and then to a phone line. The homecare company can monitor compliance or any other type of data that is available from the machine.

This unit can also change a prescription remotely. It uses Encore Pro from the DME side and will que up a prescription to be loaded into the cpap upon next connection.

This has no relative value for the patient, except that data can be retrieved without having to mail in your smartcard, or having the DME come out to change your machine pressure.

Ted

Respironics Interview wrote:The REMstar Auto with C-Flex is compatible with a Respironics’accessory -- the SleepLink™ Modem -- which can deliver oximetry information combined with compliance data.

Ted,

Does the SleepLink™ Modem provide oximetry info as stated in the above quote?

The folks at Respironics didn't say one way or the other. The description that I was given is what I posted.

Since their is no pulse ox built into the machines, I would guess that this data would not come the machine, but perhaps a Respironics Pulae Ox meter and the SleepLink.

Ted

Ted,

The machine and the oximeter plug into the SleepLink™ Modem which sends the info to the Doc... gotcha.

I gotta keep work'in that oximetry angle.

I am curious how this is connected.

I just bought the Remstar Auto with C-Flex and I don't see any phone line connection (or any other for the matter with the exception of 12V adapter)

I do believe that the modem plugs into the smartcard slot.
