thanks for the tip Cosmo, but I'm sticking with my PPAP pillow for now
I've spent way too much $$ on pillows already.

Fantastic! Glad to hear it is working.DoriC wrote:UPDATE! Mike has been sleeping on the Z by Maloof, Queen High Loft Plush for about a week and it's been great! It's so comfortable, he's been sleeping much better and best of all, almost ZERO leaks every night so far!
For me, I bought the firm, high loft pillow just after buying a very firm mattress. After about a week, I decided to "soften things up a bit" and bought a 2.5" memory foam mattress topper. Now I think I sink in to the foam enough that the pillow is now too tall for me! I will have to see if they take returns/do exchanges. I think with this topper, I'd be better off with the lower-loft pillow.
You are right the the smell dissipates over a few days to a week.
It is a good quality pillow, and I like the feel of it. I'm glad it is working for Mike.

From my experience...the firmer the pillow, the better. In soft pillows your face sinks in and the mask and exhaust ports sink in. With a firm pillow, like a firm contour foam or buckwheat hull, you lay on top. I have tried several and I find the buckwheat hull to be exceptional.

Re: Pillow for your head
I know what you mean and I was afraid of that too, but this pillow is just firm enough to keep him from sinking in too much. I thought the Firm might be too high for Mike since he's not very tall or muscular. But if this Plush pillow softens up too much later on I wouldn't hesitate to order the Firm. It's a really good quality item.Ford Guy wrote:From my experience...the firmer the pillow, the better. In soft pillows your face sinks in and the mask and exhaust ports sink in. Re: Pillow for your head
I am a newb since October of last year and have a CPAP pillow I got at bed bath & beyond for around sixty dollars( had to order it) . I am a side sleeper & a mouth breather and the CPAP pillow has worked for me. Could get a Velcro strap to go around a regular pillow - could try & see if this works before spending money ?
Re: Pillow for your head
Pillows are too much of a gamble to be buying online. This is one thing everyone should try out in the stores. Everyone is nit picky as to pillows I can sleep on anything so I knew the contour pillow would work, I just needed a pillow with mask cutouts for side sleeping.Denial Dave wrote:thanks for the tip Cosmo, but I'm sticking with my PPAP pillow for now
