You have a PR System One machine...Respironics machines report total leak (mask intentional/vent rate plus any excess leak) in Liters per minute....L/min.pwaterman wrote:Looking over it I THINK it shows a larger than average amount of leakage so I guess that could be the culprit. Does mouth breathing show up as a leak by any chance?
Leaks Med: 0.00
Leaks 95%: 4.00
Leaks Max: 18.00
Total Leaks Med: 17.00
Total Leaks 95%: 32.00
Total Leaks Max: 46.00
This issue with SH is that I have all these numbers that I don't have any relational understanding for. Is 46 high, low? 46 WHAT? Liters? Quarts? Decibels?
Vent rate will vary with mask used and pressure used. More pressure..more vent rate.
You leak numbers are fine. Large leak territory for your machine doesn't begin until somewhere around 80 L/min. Even at your maximum leak, you are well below large leak territory.
Don't try to compare your leak numbers with a Resmed machine user...those machines only report excess leak and their large leak territory starts at 24 L/min.
I looked at your reports. Nothing on your reports points to anything that screams out "fix me because I caused a bad headache".
If you had poor sleep quality in general (lots of wake ups) or less than optimal hours of sleep then that might be a a suspect but nothing on the reports is overly exciting.
Sometimes we just wake up with a headache and while we would like to blame every little thing on sleep apnea and maybe ineffective therapy....we can't do that. I often wake up with a bad headache from sleeping in a weird position (like not my normal bed pillow) because I have a bad neck. Totally unrelated to sleep apnea or cpap therapy.
There's more to good sleep than an AHI number and there is more to headache causes than low oxygen.
There's more to feeling bad during the day than sleep apnea side effects. We tend to expect the cpap therapy to fix all that ails us and lump every problem we might have in the sleep apnea/cpap basket but unfortunately it is not that simple.
