Quattro FX - what is the right fit?

I'm able to get mine with insurance through my DME. But I had to switch DMEs. The first one lied to me and said it didn't exist. When I provided the order number from Resmed, they told me they couldn't order it, so I went to a different DME who was happy to order it for me. They had it mailed to me, and it arrived in less than a week. I pay 15% copay, so that is cheaper than buying myself online. But I was going to if I couldn't get a DME to order it.

I got a new mask cushion a couple months ago, but I think I have to wait 6 months for headgear, and I wasn't at 6 months yet. Since I got my first mask from a different DME, they wouldn't know at the new DME what timeline I might be on. So, I didn't want to order, get it, and then not be covered. Now I should be good. But I would like to get more of a schedule of what I am ordering so that I can start getting some backup of supplies. I haven't used my new cushion or hose yet, so I will try to go as long as I can without using them. I want to be in a position where I always have a spare, so if something breaks, I have the next one already.

It was the first ffm i tried and i sent it back after a couple of weeks of not being able to solve the problems you mention. This was before i knew stuff like the pad-a-cheek anti-leak strap and making a liner from old tee-shirts. I wish i had tried these remedies but i was unaware of them at the time. For ffm i now use the fitlife but i can't say that i like that mask much either. So far it's the best of bad lot. I get a lot of leaks with it and i find it very hot and stuffy inside and I'm far more conscious of the air flow than i am with the nasal masks - pillows or otherwise. I'm also a big mouth breather but i go with mouth taping and haven't found it much of a hardship.

even with Pad-a-cheek liners, the Quattro FX leaked during the night... it would be great for an hour or so, but then the eye leaks, face farts, etc would return

I'm a newbie but I have this mask and have been using for almost a week. I'm a side sleeper and when I put the mask on I make sure that there are no leaks at my therapy pressure (13CM/H20). I experience no leaks when I put my head down even sort of squishing into the pillow. Thats how I fall asleep but early in the morning (5AM ish) I wake up with a little leak near the eye and have to fiddle with the mask to get it to stop. Not sure why the mask is doing this when i go to sleep its fine. Maybe either due to movement in my sleep or,my other working theory (for now) the mask seal moistens with the humidity and slides out of place slightly causing the leak. Tonight I'll sleep with a dry washcloth and wipe my face and mask down if it happens again and let you guys know what happens. Even with the waking up I'm sleeping a lot more soundly than before with the apnea!
