Anyone use scuba mask sealer?

I recently purchased a small quantity of scuba mask leak sealant from an online store (PM me for the name of the store). It is a clear silicone "ointment" that is applied in a very thin layer. Although the pot is only 1/4 oz (about 7g for those not in the US), it will probably last for months on my nasal pillows. However, it does seem to work at reducing the unintentional leaks to close to zero - I am sure the continuing leaks are because I am an active sleeper. I have yet to try it on my FitLife mask over my beard, but it does seem to be promising after a week of using it. For anyone who has problems with leaks, you might want to check out your local dive shop to see if they sell something similar ... It was less than $12 including shipping, so don't go paying a lot for it!

If I had known about this a year or so ago, I may have used some to try to use a Quattro FX or a Liberty.
as these masks barely touch my chin when awake--not even that much while sleeping.
Is this stuff safe around silicone?

As scuba masks are usually silicone, and as the site I bought it from says that it differs from vaseline and other lubricants, and does not break down the silicone of the mask. Please note that I am not affiliated with either the manufacturer or reseller of this stuff - I am just a patient who is using it and seems to be finding no problems with it ... at least not after a week-long trial! I'll keep you posted.

I wonder what's in it. Lansinoh works good for me, and I have plenty left.

I've been a licensed diver for 14 years and this is the first I've heard of such a beastie specifically for SCUBA masks. I suspect it's the same silicone grease for o-rings. Incidentally, they also sell it in the plumbing isle for replacing faucet o-rings, so there shouldn't be any health concerns.

The manufacturer doesn't say what's in it, but I'm betting it's lanolin and beeswax.

I always though is *was* silicone. But like someone else said - dive masks are silicone so it should be fine.
