SleepyHead & PR System One REMstar Plus w/ C-Flex

I'm really excited to have this machine! Last night was my first night and I am really looking forward to getting a good night's rest!

The nerd in me has me curious to see what's on the SD Card. I downloaded SleepyHead and installed it on my MacBook Pro. It runs just fine and after I followed the import process, I am taken to the Statistics tab where my unit's information & s/n are there, but it says No CPAP Machine Data Imported.

Am I doing something wrong on the SleepyHead side? I vaguely remember seeing something about needing to run a patch, but can't find any.

Or perhaps my machine is not properly logging information. There p0 folder has files in there labeled as 0000000001.000, 0000000002.000, 0000000003.000, etc... and all of them are only 59bytes.

Any help is appreciated.

Your machine is of the class that we call "brick". Your machine only records the number of hours used, not recording any of the useful ones, like leak. Still, it's early enough that you can poke at your DME and trade up to a 460 (System One REMstar Pro with C-Flex+) or the 560 (the auto). Janknits has a useful blog post on what to do.

Here's the problem....the 260 P model number. Even if you use the patch for the 60 series machines you can't get what the machine doesn't gather.
The only data on that SD card is compliance hours of use data. Nothing else.
They gave you what we call a "brick".

You need at least model 460 to have any useful data (they don't have 300 model numbers).
the PR System One 60 series Pro CPAP is model 460.
There is a Pro model 450 but it has been discontinued but some supplier may still offer it....it is a full data machine also.

It really ought to be illegal!

HEHEHE, I called the MD office and they told me that my machine collects data but I could not read it because I don't have the software. I explained that the machine did not collect more than being turned on/off and I could figure that part out since I have to push the button! I ended up sending a formal request along with a link to http://respironicsremstars.respironics.com where it clearly identifies whats what. Hopefully they will take my request a little more serious as an informed consumer.

Ahem, even if they don't budge, at least I'll be hopefully getting better sleep and more importantly.....the wife will be happier.

Thank you so much for this thread. I've been on CPAP using the same machine for over a decade and finally got a new machine on Friday (PR System One REMstar Plus w/ C-Flex) from Apria only to find out it is a "brick." I would not have known at this point if I had not tried to use sleepyhead to read the non-existent efficacy data which led me to this thread. Now I'm going to TRY to get it exchanged for a 460 . . . wish me luck!

Great news! Exchanged my System One REMstar Plus w/ C-Flex "brick" (DS260S) today for the REMstar Pro C-Flex+ (DS460S) which has full data capture, event detection and reporting at no additional cost.
