Where can I find sleepyhead stat analysis info

Post by birdygirl38 » Thu Dec 06, 2012 9:28 am

Hi,
I know that my AHI should be under 5 each night and it is.
I don't know what the leak data means or how to interpret it. Someone did tell me I should have 25 or less leaks, but is that each night?
Where can I find a writeup? I have a Resmed S9 with Aflex.

ResMed machines don't have AFlex. If your machine has AFlex on it then you have a PR System One machine.

Look in my signature line for the SleepyHead tutorial under construction thread. I think most of your questions will be answered there.

Regarding leak numbers....ResMed machines report only excess leak and yes, those users need to keep their leak numbers under 24 L/min.
The PR System One machine reports total leak which is the mask vent rate plus any excess leak so you won't ever see a leak number below 24 L/min if you are using the PR S1 machine.
Respironics doesn't ever tell us a set number for large leak territory but past experience (mine and others) seem to point to large leak territory starting somewhere around 80 to 90 L/min. Stay well below that for the bulk of the night and leaks are considered well managed. I don't get in a panic about short excursions into large leak territory if they are short lived.
10 minutes or so out of 7 or 8 hours of sleep isn't the end of the world.

I need to buy a data reader? right? ok
I have a mac so I need to set up my data card. I don't understand how, I need a technical writer to translate this stuff...lol help!

You are right - they wrote it on the order as Remstar S9 but it is a Remstar system one with Aflex on the sleepyhead data and on my machine.
Thanks for the info on leaks going to look at it now.

Edit for this question....Is your machine the Escape? If so, the only data you have available is hours of use.

But if you had a full data machine if your computer has a slot for the SD card then you wouldn't need a card reader/adapter. Those are only needed for computes without SD slots.

Hi lisacaice, I also have a Mac and I never knew it had a built-in card slot until I actually looked for it. I have a desktop iMac and the card slot is on the right side, just below the DVD slot. I still don't really know what people use SD cards for other than for reading their cpap data!
