Licare Billing

Post by Airplaneman » Fri Nov 23, 2012 1:58 pm

I started CPAP in September 2011 with lincare as DME. Now 11-10-12 I get a bill from them for $52. It is a truncated list going through 12-11-11 to 11-10-12. What is striking is that the "allowed insurance amount" stated by them is more than the actual amount stated by Anthem by about $2 or$3 per item. The difference is clearly the amount they say I owe. Has anyone else had this problem and what was the outcome or resolution. Its a small enough amount not to be the end of the world but the pricipal is what bothers me. Next year it may be $500 for all I know. Thanks in advance for any help.

Send a copy to your insurance, with your concerns.
If they are pulling a fast one on you, they may be trying the same (only BIGGER) with your insurance.

In most insurance cases, you get an "EOB" Explanation Of Benefits from the insurance company stating how much they paid and "how much you may owe the provider." Don't pay more than that amount.
