Swift FX Bella Nasal Ear Loops????

Post by Daisy004 » Thu Nov 15, 2012 7:59 pm

Has anyone every tried them? they go around your ear instead of over your head..I was wondering if they were any good, I have long hair and the headgear drives me crazy, every morning it has tugged up the back of my hair. I dont want to try them though if they give you sore ears. Anyone? thanks

Hi Daisy... I use them... basically the only mask I use. Very comfortable for me. Do a search here. There are at least two threads on the Bella Loops.

Lots of us use the Bella Loops. Here is one thread that we had going back when they were first released.
viewtopic.php?f=1&t=75389&st=0&sk=t&sd= ... ella+Loops

Some people did experience some tenderness around the ear.
Padacheek has some little fleece covers that help.
I use the Bella Loops but unless I have them too tight I don't have any real discomfort with them unless the loop slides out of the groove and my ear folds forward and gets pinched.

Karen at Padacheek actually was kind enough to make me two pair. I must have really weird ears b/c they didn't work for me. I'm more comfortable with the loops minus any fleece covers. I've learned to wear them just tight enough so they stay in place... which means very loose.

I edited my post a little.
Originally it looked like I use the Padacheek loop covers all the time but while I did test them for her I don't have enough discomfort to need them. I use the loops without the Loop covers but I do use the side strap covers for the Bella ....this is the part that lays against the cheek.

Those Loops will pinch for sure if they are too tight and the adjustment is tiny. Best to do final adjustment laying down because the weight of the hose will affect the fit. If you make the adjustments sitting up the weight of the short hose pulls on things a bit and I found I had it too tight. Don't need that much tension when laying down.

I love my bella loops! Pink and all!!!!

I do not use anything other than the small pads that come with it. The first few nights were questionable but now I have no issues. I am also a guy! LOL Maybe I just have tougher skin. My ears are perfect thank God. I can't seel myself with any other mask right now. I do not mind the original headgear, but it will be hard to pry the bella's away from me!!

I also second the laying down while you adjust. DO not be afraid to tinker with straps. Once you find the setting you are golden. I noticed some leaks with mine if I would wrinkle my nose a bit or something... so I snugged them up one notch each and I was back to perfect!

Good luck with them if you go that route. I highly reccomend them!

I love my Swift FX with bella loops! Definitely the most comfortable mask and headgear I've tried. Usually I can't even feel that I have anything on.

I find the Bella Loops keep the Swift FX mask in place better than the regular headgear, because it slides around all over my hair.

I bought the Padacheek cheek and loop covers with the Bella Loops and am glad as the straps would surely leave marks on my cheeks, just from sleeping on them. Haven't tried the ear loops without the covers, but maybe an experiment is coming up

Cheers,
xena

I've used them with mixed results. Some nights they stay in place and I get no ear discomfort. Other nights I don't seem to retain as good as a fit with the full Swift FX headgear and they have on minor occasion caused some soreness to the back sides of my ears. Probably user error in the adjustments... YMMV , I would give them a try.

For a night or two, they were OK for me, after that, I started getting a little sore on top of one ear.
I rigged up a similar apparatus for my élan, made of stretchy lingerie fabric spaghetti straps
salvaged from a bra that was actually a torture device in disguise. (but that's another tale)
I did this for a couple of nights, but I need to devise better attachment and adjustment, as knots are lumpy.

If I understand all the posts here you can use the Bella Nasal Ear Loops instead of the Swift FX for Her headgear and continuing using the Swift pillows that I prefer. My DME said that they may not carry the Swift products in the future so I may have to pay out of pocket or find another DME.

If the above is accurate, I will definitely invest in the loops because the strap that goes on the back of your head gets caught in my hair and gets stretched out very quickly.

I have one question, on the headgear the swivel is attached to the pillows is it the same with the loop.
Getting my CPAP machine was the best thing ever. I call her my BFF.

Yes. the loops snap on the outside"arms" of the pillows.

Another Bella Loop fan. Paid for mine out of pocket when they first came out.

The top buckle on the regular headgear is a hair eater.
I put the extra side covers on the top straps, overlapping them in the middle.
The buckle goes hungry.

Genius!!!

I'm putting in an order for replacement pillows so I'll get the Bella loops too.
