Post by Grand-PAP » Sat Nov 03, 2012 2:07 am

There have been several threads lately about the Respironics FitLife Total Face Mask.

If you have EVER considered one, you might want to check this out:

I got on the website and was told the page was not available....I don't know if it really is or if its just because I'm in Canada and its not available to Canadians. Oh well ....will try again some other time.
Started cpap in 2010.. still at it with great results.

Looks like it is a link to Sears that only works for US customers.
Darn good price though. $65 for small and $60 for large.
If someone outside the US wants to make use of it...find a friend in the US. I bet they would help you out.

That is a good price but in that mask when the seal goes you have to replace the whole mask, there is no replacement cushion.

Wow! that's a great price. I'm getting mine delivered ( supposedly) on monday from cpap.com and the "sale" price was $125 while the non-sale price and the price at 1800cpap.com was $165. If it works for me, i'll try to buy a bunch of them as replacements. Thanks for the info.

I'm in the US and the link takes me to a page with rubber gloves. No mask.

Hi Heavylids,

http://www.sears.com/health-wellness-fi ... SKIP_LEVEL

If you RIGHT CLICK the above URL and then click one of the following . . .

Open
Open in new widow

. . . it should go to the page for the masks.

Have you used the FitLIfe mask? The mask does not fail there. The flapper valve can fail. The head straps need to be replaced more often than every six months.

Is there anyone who has used this mask for any length of time had the seal around the face fail due to age?

Hi squid,

I doubt that one can buy the flipper valve, possible the entire elbow connection.

However, regarding the flapper value, it might not be "failing." Yesterday morning I did my normal "weekend" routine of soaking and washing the FitLife in hot soapy baby shampoo. At the end of the process, I "swished" the mask in the soapy water, then rinsed it and let it dry on a clean towel. Last night when I turned on the Bi-PAP, there was a steady stream of air. Apparently when I "swished" the mask the water forced the flapper through the valve hole. I unmasked and took a pencil and gently pulled the flapper back through the hole and everything was back to normal!

I have used the Fitlife for more than two years. Note, that after an exhausted mask search, when I stumbled onto the Fitlife, it was a match made in heaven, especially when you can't wear the full face, nasal or hybrids. But as with any mask you take the good with the bad. For me, the head gear (straps) won't last 3 months. The velcro starts to weaken after 2 months. The masks will last me 3-4 months. It starts to leak around my temples. As Froggy told me, the silicone probably starts to break down and weaken. The mask and cushion are one piece, so you can't replace the cushion. That being said, I know several people who were able to use the mask a lot longer than me.

For what its worth.... Go Texans!!!

Just in case anyone was conserved that this sale might not be legit, I thought I would update and close this thread out for me . . .

1. This morning (11-9-12), I checked and the sale price was still available.

2. Wednesday, I received the two FitLife Masks (Large) and the price was $127, including tax and free shipping.

Hi,

No, they didn't request one. I just placed the orders on line and they shipped.
