Wanting to make the DME world Better
Wanting to make the DME world Better
Good Afternoon everyone,
I have worked as a Respiratory Therapist for several years, I have also worked in the DME side of the house. I want to be a consultant to DME offices and let them know how they can improve costumer satisfaction. They have a tendency to forget that they are there to serve you as the patient and not their own bank accounts. One thing I did notice, is that people were not getting the supplies that their insurance companies allowed them to get every 3 months, 6 months, 12 months. I need advice on what you need them to do better so they can be better at their business.
Thank you kindly,
Amanda

Truth.
If you don't want to sell me an S9 Autoset because of lower profit margin, please tell me so I can get it elsewhere
Promptness.
If I need an élan cushion, and you have to order it, please do so right away.
Listen.
If I am having trouble with comfort and fit, show me a mask liner--maybe even give me a disposable one to try.
Progress.
Please be educated about efficacy data and how it can make the difference between a cpap drop-out and a
full-fledged (compliant) member of the cult.
Note: Many on this forum have been treated very poorly by their DME's

Re: Wanting to make the DME world Better
You have stepped into the world of educated and activated CPAP users... many of whom have had bad experiences with their DMEs.
If you will avail yourself of the SEARCH tool at the top left of the forum pages, you will find more than you ever dreamed, to inform your study of how DMEs can do a MUCH better job of "serving" those of us with OSA.
Better buckle up!

You are talking about DMEs pumping the insurance companies for all the money they can get out of them and thereby driving up the cost of insurance premiums for all of us.
There are no supplies that are needed frequently. Most masks will last a couple of years and hoses last for many years. Four of those tiny air filters per year is all that is needed frequently. Put a dozen in a pack for a few dollars and you have three years supply.
I don't like your idea.

The firebird is an ancient tradition in stories and art.
The firebird, or Phoenix is a mythical bird of such beauty and rarity
that once a man or women finds a feather of it,
they embark on a quest to find the bird and tame it.
It is this way for all of us now, hunting the firebird
for the great energy it has to share with us.
It must just be the day......
.....roll on river, roll on.

Don't worry about it. There really is a "Troll Season" and it's just beginning. It seems to run through late spring. Maybe they live in colder climates.Phil_in_CA wrote:Did I feed a troll?!?
