Help with a Sandman Humidifier Board

Post by izula » Mon Oct 22, 2012 11:21 am

Hello,

I have a Puritan Bennett Sandman Auto CPAP with a built-in Humidifier. A few weeks ago, my wife moved the machine with water in the humidifier and dropped it... The smoke came out of the board that drives the humidifier. I removed the shorted board and the CPAP is working without it, but it is not working well for me without humidification. The board damage is limited (I think...) to one burned out surface mount resistor. Unfortunately, the resistor marking flaked off, so I have no idea what resistor value it is. Does anyone have an image (or can take a photo) of this humidifier board so I can replace the burned out resistor? The affected side of the board is opposite of the wire connections. The board is labeled "HH Sandman V1.2". Of course, if anyone has a spare laying around, that would be cool too!

In the mean time, I've arranged for another sleep center appointment for a new CPAP prescription. I'm hoping that the Doc will not require another sleep study. Aside from being expensive, the lead time is too long and I hate having all the electrode leads attached to me. I'm thinking of a new S9 for a replacement. My insurance is at 90/10 now for DME so the cost is not much of an issue. Anything else improve in the past three years since I've been sleeping happily? Thanks!
