The flat line is lack of air movement...the little tiny fuzzy part of the flat line is the machine doing its FOT thing to try to determine what to call this lack of air movement (central or obstructive). Finally when it is all done then the machine flags this lack of air movement as some time of event.
Flat line is pretty much zero flow....lines that aren't so flat might be called hyponeas because some air is moving though greatly reduced but not reduced enough to meet criteria for obstructive.
ResMed seems to flag events after the end of the lack of air flow.
So what you are seeing with the flat line is the event itself...and the flag at the end of the event is telling you what the machine wants to call it.
I have no idea if anyone can determine from the flow graphs what caused the awakening. I don't think it can be done. Sometimes its fairly obvious when the awakening occurs after a flagged event. When they occur out of the blue and the flow looks a bit odd....I have no idea. I think would need EEG brain wave data and even then I don't know if we would be able to determine the actual cause of the awakening.
I may have to RISE but I refuse to SHINE.
