Need To Adjust Pressure on Older Bipap Pro 2 HELP!!

Post by MrStein » Sat Oct 20, 2012 1:15 pm

Hello All....Newb back for more questions/help.....Last night I finally got my 2nd night of sleep study in!! Other than the fact it took me 1.5hrs to actually fall asleep, I did really well. This morning when I was getting unwired, the tech told me I ended up on a pressure of around 11-12cm . I told him that I have an older Resperonics BiPaP Pro 2 with Biflex that my father gave me before I started sleep study. Of course he said it's not recommended to use it without official RX, but I have already tried it and have no problems. The only thing is....I cant adjust the pressure of course!!...I can't even get in to read what the pressures are. HELP! Does anybody know where I can find a clinicians/setup manual for this machine???....I have googled until my googler wore out...lol....I have found manuals for every machine except this one!!......The tech said it would maybe be 2 weeks or so until I get my machine from my DME. I have the same mask I used last night (from my hospital stay 2 months ago), brand new hose/filters...ect.
I am pretty sure that the current pressure setting is a bit too much but not sure..I am a very tech savvy guy and understand the EPAP/IPAP and flex/rise functions, I just can't get into the menu's to adjust them. I fear sleeping without cpap assistance while I wait on my DME, Can anybody here point me to the setup manual for this machine?
Actually I just need the button combination to bring up the setup menu......help please!!

Here's the make/model/serial of the machine..... Resperonics BiPaP Pro 2 with Biflex model# 1012986 serial# 3688801

and a pic......Image

This is the only one I have and it is for the Pro which predates the Pro 2.

If that doesn't help check the link above that greatunclebill posted.
The combination for the cpap Pro2 and the BiPap Pro2 should work.

REMstar Pro 2 Setup

When in the Setup Menu, the humidifier ^ and ramp v buttons operate as up and down keys to change the settings, the left/right user buttons < > allow you to go to the previous/next question or setting, and the pressure start/stop button is used to exit the Setup Menu. Holding the humidifier or ramp buttons down will cause the values to change more quickly.

To enter the Therapy Setup Menu, hold the two top user buttons < > down while plugging in the power cord.
Continue holding the buttons down until the REMstar Pro 2 with C-Flex beeps twice.

Note: The word "setup" will appear on all of the screens indicating that you are in the Therapy Setup Menu.

Thank you SO much for the info! I will attempt this today, and report back accordingly. This site has been a Godsend for my wife and I. What a great online community! I have found so many answers to questions without even having to post. Last night the tech at the sleep center informed me officially that I am dx'd with severe OSA. Had I not been spending so much time here reading and learning, I probably wouldn't have slept at all. Thanks to whom ever runs this site, and to all who share here!!

Worked like a charm. Mine didn't say "set up" it said "flex" I believe on the screen. The instructions worked perfectly though, thank you very much.
