Bipap machines can also be run in straight cpap mode, so you should be okay with that machine, depending on what your titration turns out to be.

Yes, you can use it.
Depending on the model of BiPap you may even have a full data model.
It will use a Smart card and you would need a Smart card reader.

Can you tell us exactly what it says on the machine....all the words.
It should say BiFlex instead of CFlex....the other words should be BiPap Pro or BiPapAuto or BiPap Plus along with the usual Remstar and M Series words.

I can get you a provider manual for it once I know exactly which model you have.
They all will have a straight cpap mode. Heck, it may even be indicated that you need higher pressures (to be determined during titration study) and you would already be set with easier to breathe with bilevel machine.. Severity of apnea has no bearing on pressure needs.

Thanks so much for your replies it says on front it is a remstar pro m series and says c-flex On the back is where it says bipap also the model # is 400. It has a encore card in it and was set at 9 for previous owner how do I get a data reader for it ? Are they expensive ? I cleaned it all and turned it on at the setting of 9 it sure seems like it will b hard to adjust to all that air it's sure gonna be a adjustment Also is this a good machine ?

It is not a bipap. Respironics used that sticker on all those machines..disregard that sticker.
Model 400 is a regular straight cpap machine..fixed pressure.
Good basic machine and gathers full data. In its day...it was a Cadillac.
We can get you the software for free and the card reader you need for around $46.50.

This is the machine.

Did you get the humidifier?

There is a ramp feature that will help adjusting to the pressures. I know that 9 cm seems like a hurricane to you now but with mask on and using the ramp and with some time....that hurricane becomes a gentle breeze. It really does.

If you will register and send me a private message I will get you a link for the provider manual for that machine long with a link to where you can buy the card reader at the cheapest price I have found on the web...$40 plus 6.50 shipping.
I can also get you started on the software.

It's a good machine and will serve you well and the price is right. I used an M series machine until April of 2011 when I yielded to the temptation of additional data that the new PR S1 machines offer.

The M series machine does not offer a separate clear airway event category nor does it do Flow limitations or RERAs but you
will get AHI, OAs, Hyponeas and snores...along with an easy to evaluate leak line. It reports total leak...so don't try to compare it to a ResMed leak or you will freak out...Resmed reports only excess leak.

The current model Respironics (Philips Respironics System One PRO or Auto) CPAPs and ResMed S9 Elite or AutoSet record airflow waveforms, which are extremely valuable for figuring out problems, and how well your therapy is going. It's sort of like having an EKG for your breathing all night long. With the M series, the card reader, and software, you can see when you had apneas, but you can't look at the waveform and figure out, for instance, how long it lasted.

They also use an SD memory card, which is much easier to deal with. No special card reader required.

The M series machine is a good machine. The data collection it has is pretty good, but the newer models are greatly improved.
