Sobakawa Pillow
Sobakawa Pillow
My husband's been using the full size Sobakawa pillow for a few nights and he really likes it and his mask likes it too! My question for anyone using it, can you use a regular pillow case over the one that comes with it with the same good results?

Yes, you sure can. Won't change a thing.

Might even make it better, and could well make it last longer because you are not taking the one that comes with it off to wash as often. I use 2 pillows, and it is very comfortable. So, go for it!

Re: Sobakawa Pillow
I use a regular pillow case that came with our set of sheets...works great. I've been using the Sobakawa pillow since shortly after I started bipap therapy and still love it. Another advantage that you can pass on to your husband, is that the regular small size (like you would find at Bed Bath & Beyond or Walmart) works just as well and fits really easily in a suitcase. Never leave home without it. Lol.

Re: Sobakawa Pillow
OK, you are indeed discussing the pillows stuffed with tiny foam beads--not the crunchy buckwheat hulls.
Foam is indeed quieter, but mine from B3 is too tall (neck hurts)--I need to remove some beads.
Maybe I'll even cut the inner baffles, too.

$19.99 at Target and made of all synthetic (petroleum-based) materials. I might try one.
Glad to see recommendations for cheaply priced products made from synthetics.
Forums like these are often dominated by dreamy-eyed people who believe "natural" products are inherently better and if it is not high priced it is not worthy of their ownership.
Thank you DoriC!

Re: Sobakawa Pillow
I've used various variants of that type of pillow (both synthetic and buckwheat) for the last 15 years. In all cases, I have used just regular pillow cases that came with my sheet sets =)

Re: Sobakawa Pillow
I've been on the buckwheat one for about 4 months. I just use a regular pillowcase and fold the extra pillowcase underneath
When in doubt, open the case. Remember: If you can't open it, you don't own it!

Re: Sobakawa Pillow
We did try the small Sobakawa from BBB but it was too small and flat although the comfort was great, so I returned it, went online and bought a full size one which really seems the perfect size, Mike's AHI was 0.5 last night, Leak=0.4 https://www.buythepillow.com/index.php?page=Home
