I am getting a new machine soon and the DME told me that they have a remstar p560 available for me. I asked her to clarify the number and she told me it's a P560 current model. It seems on in the forums the number usually has a DS in front follow by a T or something at the end. Any idea why the referece number were changed or if ther is a differnce?
thanks...my firs post
Machine reference or serail numbers
Re: Machine reference or serail numbers
Philips seems to use different prefixes and suffixes depending on where the number is listed. One is on the bottom of the machine, one goes on the box, another one is in the paperwork, etc. I've seen things like 560, 560P, "Ref 560", DS560P, DS561CA, etc., all apparently referring to the same model machine. I think anything with 560 or 561 is the same.DanaD wrote:I am getting a new machine soon and the DME told me that they have a remstar p560 available for me. There is some difference in humidifiers. There is a mod 60 humidifier that won't take a heated hose, one that takes a heated hose, but doesn't come with one, and one that comes with a heated hose. Be sure you know which one you're getting.

Re: Machine reference or serail numbers
thanks for the helpful response and you are correct about the humidifer with the heated hose. Mine does not have one, but the cool thing is you can get a conversion kit that replaces the cover on the humidifier, new heated hose and a new power supply. This kit only works for the 60 series though. Here's the link it's 75 dollars

The new PS560 with the heated tube humidifier is model DS560TS. The other, standard humidifier for the 560 does not have the heated tube connection on it, but there is the new adaptor kit mentioned above to allow the use of the heated tube.
