Sleep tech is taking an insomnia poll

Post by kaiasgram » Sun Oct 07, 2012 2:09 pm

The sleep tech who runs the freecpapadvice website and forum is doing a poll on insomnia. I thought maybe we could help him out by participating. He is a registered sleep technician in northern CA where I live, I've had pm correspondence with him and have found him to be knowledgeable, very caring and at times funny. He is very dedicated to helping people with sleep apnea (his dad has sleep apnea) as evidenced by his large collection of videos on Youtube where he explains what a polysomnogram is showing, reviews different masks, and offers other tips for cpap users (like the one on using a mouthguard currently on another thread here).

I don't see his forum as being in any kind of competition with ours but before I post a link to his insomnia poll I thought I'd check this out with y'all to see if you're comfortable with it, especially our hosts.

Nuthin' in my opinion -- we're all trying to get better healthier sleep and he's trying to help us and others do just that. We're all on the same page.

But I didn't want to step on any toes here by posting the link here so thought I'd feel it out first. Thanks Slarty. Anyone else have a feeling about posting the link?

He who hesitates is asleep.
He who hesitates sometimes has a good reason to do so... but I'm glad you went ahead and posted the link!

I agree ems. His website has a lot of interesting information including a brief discussion of fibromyalgia and sleep. Even if you don't participate in the insomnia poll it's worth checking out his website, freecpapadvice, as well as his collection of youtube videos (on the youtube site type in "lanky lefty" ).

Cool, way to go lazer! Check out his account of a conversation he had at a recent National Sleep conference where negative comments about our forum were being made (because we're all messing around with our pressures and don't know what we're doing, etc...). It's on the first page of that Insomnia Poll thread.

We have an ally in "The Lanky Lefty" and I hope there will be more crosstalk between our forums as time goes on. Glad you went over there and signed on!
