Any clue why I didn't want to get up this morning?

Post by lazer » Mon Oct 01, 2012 10:05 am

I absolutely missed all of my alarms and did not want to get out of bed this morning. Finally I frantically woke up at 8:30AM already 1/2 hr late for work to my usual time.

Wow, you really zonked out. 11 1/2 hrs. Nicely spaced events... you are neat and tidy... well organized, like books on a shelf (humor).

Yea, I had to rush to work and missed out on my morning 20oz Sheetz Coffee and while I feel rested, am just in a little fog right now. Time to grab some shitty 4oz coffees from the vending machine here.

If I was in bed for 11+ hours I would be too groggy to get up too!!! I feel great at the 7-8 hours mark.

Hi lazer!

Two thoughts:

1. Little deep sleep. For me, to increase deep sleep I made effort to walk further that day (still trying for my 10,000 steps a day).

2. When was the last time you had your hearing checked?

Have a great week!

I know I have to improve on my exercise. That has been my goal and downfall thus far.

Been awhile in regards to my hearing but I do recall many years back that my "high pitch" hearing was degrading.

On a side note, I think a couple of my alarms are actually failing on me. I got a new phone Droid X upgraded to the Razr Maxx and not sure if I'm getting my desired alarms to sound properly on it.
And why is the ZEO alarm so damn low. Is there a setting somewhere to raise it's volume?

Thanks for the concern. Sleeping in is a a bitch when you have a job to be at.

You stayed up too late watching Sunday night football. Try getting a FULL 8 hours for at least 2 days straight. You will feel like a new man!!

Good afternoon Lazer.

I'd give anything to sleep that deeply *VERY jealous *

@guest - *chuckles*

On a serious note: I agree with Todzo. However, one other item to check as far as smartphone alarms. You may want to go to your settings and check the volume of your alarm. It may too low. I have mine all the way up. In fact, I have a 3 alarm set: 1) Smartphone, 2) Good ol' alarm clock, and 3) Husband for those very important wake-ups.

Lol, Thanks for the reply and I will check into the Android settings for the alarms a bit closer. I wish my sleep was "Deep" but not according to Zeo BUT obviously in reality I was sleeping pretty deep or consistent in REM.

To the guest poster: I didn't even bother watching Monday night football and definitely won't be tonight as I have tickets to the Pirate's game this evening. (Part of the reason I went to be earlier than usual but I just didn't think it would promote me to also sleep in late. )

Hi lazer!

My grandfather had trouble waking up. He also had access to an old air siren. When an old aire siren spins up to full volume - 150 db!!! I guess it only happened once. After that, the "click" of the relay was enough to awaken him!!!

FWIW, the very old fashoned clocks with the mechanical alarms have a much fuller audio bandwidth than do the new "very small speaker" based alarms.

I have lost hearing. Moving away from sweets seems to help.

Have a lot of fun!

Emplyee's coffee club here; $1 for 2 weeks --all I can drink.
Whoever empties the pot, makes the next.
I only have a couple mugs a day.
Others need more. Poor darlin's.
